“As you can see sir,” Anders said, “Around… now, you can see the door to Commander Holmann’s quarters opens, but no one enters, after a further hour, you see the door open again, this time with Ensign Pey standing outside. Then the feed just to myself and the science team arriving to find Holmann and Pey’s body in the hot tub. I don’t understand how someone could mask themselves from the feed without being cloaked, I tried running a tachyon sweep of the room just to be sure, but nothing came up. Whoever our mystery person is, they are one clever git.”

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security-

Sapeth nodded as he looked at the screen. It was an interesting conundrum.

“Were you able to pull up feeds from any of the hallway security feeds during that time? On the off chance that the culprit did not modify all of the feeds.”

Lt Sapeth - CE

“Now why didn’t I think of that?” Kyle said, “Computer, access security feeds for Deck 2, sections C through L.” Kyle watched with the Chief Engineer as the panel turned into a bank of small screens.

The ten separate feeds showed the current state of affairs in those sections, the milling about of cadets and low ranking officers bustling about to get their jobs done.

Assuming that the time stamps were pulled up, the time marks matched up with what was seen through the door in the hot tub room door. Pey could be seen wandering into frame, knocking on the door and then going in. Holmman was seen some time later going into section C and then not seen again. The next thing on the feed is the security detail entering the Hot tub room. There were seven hours were there was no one in the hall, suspicious.

“Cadet, if you knew everything, there wouldn’t be a need for an Academy training cruise,” Sapeth said matter of factly.

As he looked at the security feeds, it was suspiciously empty. There should have at least been crew walking through the hallway, even in the middle of the night.

“Computer, analyze security footage, look for repeating patterns that would indicate that the security feed has been looped.”

Anders appreciated the somewhat blunt, yet sincere response from the Chief Engineer. He smiled to himself, That’s a Vulcan for you he said internally. “Anything I can help with while the analysis is running Lieutenant?”

OOC: Make sure every once and a while you trim off some of the older posts, it helps keep these threads from getting to long. And you know, especially annoying if you are looking at them on your phone! Everyone has there method for determining when to snip posts. For me, I like to go back to a major point or event, and use that as a place to start. You probably want to make sure to leave information that will be important in the next couple of posts, if that changes how far back you go. For example, in this case I went back to right when we started talking about the video.

“What about the other access points to the Executive Officer’s quarters? What did the access logs for those say? Because one does not simply disappear into thin air Cadet.”

Sapeth looked over at the security footage, trying to see if he could note any repetition in the footage.

IC:

“As far as we can tell sir, the only access point used was the front door. I can go back down there if you think another scan would be beneficial?”

-Cadet Kyle Anders: Security-

“Not at this moment Cadet. Though I do believe it might be worthwhile for us to visit the quarters after we finish reviewing the footage. While we wait for the computer to finish the analysis, what did the investigation find related to the bodies, and the cause of death?”
