Kyle clapped his hand onto Riley’s back to snap him back into the room, “Ahh but think of all the memories you’ll make in the Fleet,” as Anders said this, an attractive young Ensign walked past the two young officers and made her way over to one of the adjacent treadmills, “And not just with friends,” he added quietly.

(OOC: Getting Major Tom and Harry from Voyager vibes with these two lol)

Riley almost stumbled at the clap from the security officer. He glanced at the ensign as she was pointed out, then shook his head, wiping away a sweaty blond lock sticking to his forehead. “Have to get past the cruise first,” he said. “And today didn’t seem to go that well.”

He tossed the towel into his bag. “Then we’ll see about other…” He glanced at the ensign, now hitting a pretty good pace on the treadmill. “… entanglements,” he finished. Man, that has to be a 4-minute mile pace, he noted.

(OOC: I can see it. The young and brash Anders taking the older, shyer Riley under his wing? lol)

(OOC: Oh blimey I didn’t realise Matthew was 27, so it’s kinda the reverse of Paris and Kim lol)

Kyle laughed to himself as he noticed Matthew staring absentmindedly at the Ensign, now up to a jog on the treadmill, he pretended to tap his combadge, “Bridge to Cadet Riley, please report to the Ready Room immediately.” Anders tried to grab his new found friend before he could run off towards the false summons.

Matthew looked askance to his fellow cadet. “I’m not a first year, Kyle,” he laughed. “Save that for someone else.”

He hefted his bag. “I need to get back and shower, then was going to grab a meal in Nine Forward.” He extended his hand. “It was good meeting you Kyle. “

Kyle arched an eyebrow, almost imitating a Vulcan, “Fascinating, I was thinking of heading for dinner myself, mind if I join you?”
