Riley, still setting up the chemical analysis of the commander’s glass, glanced at the lieutenant as she approached. He paused as she began speaking, then continued working, slowly, feeling the heat rising to his face.

“Of course, Lieutenant,” he nodded, still looking at the interface before him. Strike one, Riley. “It’s my first …” He paused. “… investigation,” he finished. He managed to hold back the very nervous laugh he felt rising.

He continued plotting the scanner commands, then hit the Executebutton. He strummed his fingers, staring at the display, watching various spectrograms as they returned, very aware of the lieutenant’s presence beside him.

The contents of the glass itself were relatively uninteresting. Cheap champagne that had gone flat as time and oxygen took their tole.

The DNA on the other hand, well that was something different. The DNA on the commander’s uniform was that of, the commander, but the woman’s uniform had a third set that was identified as one Ensign Alexis Kiriakou, an engineer who specialized in sensor systems.

Across the room, the DNA analysis chimed with results, and Riley and T’Mor turned toward the sound, followed by the chemical analysis results chiming from the display in front of him. Matthew turned back toward his station and pulled up the complex report.

(OOC: I figure T’Mor will go get those DNA results.)

“Normal champagne,” he muttered, looking at results for both sets of glasses. “So this wasn’t the vector for the benzodiazepines.” He bit his lower lip, drumming his index fingers on the table. He blinked, remembering how the prints on the glasses appeared to have been planted. Of course there’s no evidence of the drugs here, he inwardly groaned. He double checked the autopsy report for signs of hypospray or even hypodermic injection indicators.

“Lieutenant McMorran,” he asked, still scanning the document, “can we have security locate the source of each of the individuals’s last meals before this occurred?” He thought for a moment. “And record of any use or activation of the replicator in that room.”
