He let out a soft sigh.

He was required to do a medical exam before beginning active duty. He was aware of that, of course, yet he had hoped he could put it off for a little while longer. He had a genuine fear of medical rooms and sickbays, anything surgical scared him. In his head, it was an entirely rational fear, the room where people stabbed you with needles was a fair place to be scared of.

So he knocked, and he waited.

OOC: Welcome aboard! This is a good first post :) On that note, do remember your sign-offs. It’s just putting your character’s name and rank at the bottom of your post as I have done.

The door to the sickbay slid open, revealing a bustling room, with doctors and nurses rushing back and forth. For several minutes, no one acknowledged Cadet Rook. Then, a nurse, NE Howard stopped. “Hello there,” said the NE, gathering that this was a new Cadet both from his demeanor and his uniform. “Let me get the CMO. Shouldn’t be more than a few minutes.” He said, and then he rushed off back into the bustle.

It was another few moments later that the CMO, junior Lieutenant Mika, came forward. “Hello! You must be Cadet Rook, right? Here for your boarding eval?” She asked, smiling a friendly smile. “Come in, pick a biobed, we’ll get you started here, okay?” She said, and with that she gestured deeper into the sickbay. Two or three of the biobed were empty.

He chose the closest bed.

Honestly he was surprised he had been seen so soon, with all the hustle and bustle of a ship such as this, he was extremely surprised he had been seen at all. He had expected to be given a return date, return time.

He kicked his feet up onto the bed after answering her questions, confirming that he was indeed Cadet Rook and that he was indeed present for his boarding evaluation.
