A well composed chuckle flowed from McMorran. “Aye, it’s great isn’t it? The system is compatable with all manner of simulations. This lab had a refit a while back. I try to make the most of it.” Across the long wall of the lab to the left of the doors flowed elegant visualisations of gas clouds and galaxy clusters.

“This is my personal workspace. I know that your expertise in Physics overlap with mine quite a bit however.” McMorran’s back faced Riley as she turned and began to head for the back of the room. “I may end up giving you use of this space.” She turned to look over her shoulder. “Perhaps we may even collaborate. But for now, please.” The CSO reached her desk, fitted neatly at the back of the space with a desk chair sitting comforably behind it for Aili to sink into, and raised an arm in invitation for Nathan to sit opposite her.

Matthew shot upright. Collaborate? He looked back and forth from the lieutenant to the holodisplay a time or two. “Um, that would be great.”As long as you don’t mess up. No, you’re a good scientist.

He followed her back to the desk. “Um, if I may ask, what was your field of study?” he asked as he sat.
