Emmy notated each DH’s response as they confirmed her communication. She hoped to have an update soon on what exactly was going on.

Davis, CO

While she was anxious for a full report on what had happened, Emmy knew that the careful investigation of the situation would require diligent searching and careful thought. She resisted the urge to prod at her staff and instead turned to the nearest cadet on the bridge.

“NE Entertainment, run a full count of the crew on the ship, making sure that no one is missing other than our Ensign. Is anyone not in their expected location?”

OOC: NE Entertainment? I don’t know who you mean…

IC: “Aye ma’am!” NE Seezra responded with a yelp. The jumpy young Trill brushed aside her black hair after it fell into her face as she looked down at her console. Moments later a basic procedure was exciting computer relays all over the ship as it checked the status of the crew at large, searching for any anomalies.

Entertainment snorted at Seezra’s excitedness and passed over the report they had been working on so that Seezra could take the credit. In it it showed that everyone, including Pay, was present and accounted for. There was an engineering record showing Pay alive and well in sick bay.

“I…” Seezra gulped, not quite understanding the report on front of her. “Captain, the computer shows Ensign Janga as being alive and in good health in Sickbay?!” The poor woman was deeply baffled. “What… what does that mean?”

=/\= Mika to Captain Davis, I’ve got some interesting results here. I’d say she died 3 - 6 hours before we found her. Looks like she fought judging by the state of her finger nails. And one other thing… she was strangled, not drowned. =/\= Mika said over the comm system to the Captain, reporting her findings.

Emmy’s expression mirrored the previously excited Trill’s bafflement quickly as she attempted to process what that information might mean. Before she got far into that, however, her comm badge chirped with the message from the CMO, which conclusively proved that Ensign Janga was not still alive…

Turning to the Trill, she instructed, “run the scan again.”

Anticipating that the result was likely to come back as an issue with the computer, Emmy tapped her comm badge again:

Depending on what he’d found out, she had a very unpleasant task in her near future…
