“I bet you could do it.” She blushed again. Really? She rolled her mental eyes at herself for being so....something. “Thank you.” She watched him conducting in the air. “I like seeing you this relaxed.” She sipped at her glass. “I really love his music, the way it changes so suddenly from one theme to the next. I listen to it a lot when I need a distraction from what’s in my head.” She stood up and walked over to the replicator. “What would you like to eat?”
Cadet Fayth, Doctor“I happen to like being this relaxed Doc.” Joseph said. He watched her get up and head over to the replicator. “Surprise me sweetheart, I don’t really have a preference at the moment.” The thought that one day, this setting, Rainns and Fayth together every night, with music playing and both of them happy to be with each other, could become home to him, made Joseph happy. He was filled with content and happiness. The more time he spent with Sharah the more he felt that his future would be with her. He knew it would, but somehow that confidence grew more and more with each moment they shared together.

“Well, since you can read my mind, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to surprise you. Keep your expectations low please.” Sharah’s back was facing him so he couldn’t exactly see the smile on her face as she repeated back to him what he had said to her when she suggested he surprise her. She typed her selection into the comm panel and waited for them to materialize. She set the bowls of risotto on the table in front of the couch. ‘I could do this for the rest of my life.’
Cadet Fayth, Doctor“Hey, that’s my line.” Joseph said, sitting up from the couch and turning to look back at Fayth. He couldn’t help but grin, as his memories took him all the way back to their first date. He watched her make her way over to the couch and set the bowls down. ‘I’m glad we both feel that way.’ He responded, looking over at her.

Sharah smiled just a little shyly at him as she picked up her bowl and began to eat. ‘Did you solve my mystery to your satisfaction?’ It was silly small talk, but she was rather enjoying thinking about their first date. Some of it, those first two weeks on board, were still fuzzy to her, or out of order. But she enjoyed thinking about their time anyway. ‘Whatever made you sit down at that table with me, anyway?’
Cadet Fayth, DoctorJoseph took his bowl and likewise began eating. ‘I did actually. Another case closed.’ He took a bite of his food. ‘To be honest, I thought you were one of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen, and the ability to communicate without opening my mouth is something I was incredibly intrigued by.’ He paused for a moment, ‘Not too mention that your personality was that of an oyster. A hard outer layer that was protecting a pearl, and I knew I wanted to be with someday like that. Tough and durable on the outside but amazing and breath taking on the inside.’

Sharah continued to slowly eat her food while she listened to him. When he was done she paused, her fork halfway to her mouth and put it down. She picked up her water, drinking it, not quite having choked on her food, but her mouth suddenly very dry. She didn’t see herself like that all. She’d always been described as sick, unguarded, flighty, unfocused, and when she was younger uncontrolled and dangerous. To Joseph, she seemed a little sad, but not necessarily in a bad way. ‘Do you really see me that way?’ She didn’t really see her self like that. She knew she was stubborn and determined, but she didn’t see herself as strong, her mind was always such…a mess…until recently. ‘You, you’re tough. Your mind is formidable, it’s intimidating. And physically you have to be tough, your COS.’ She also thought he was extremely attractive.
