Sharah stepped off the turbolift with Joseph. She walked to her quarters and went in. When the door shut she hugged him rather suddenly, stepped back and smiled. “Thank you. You really helped me a lot today.” She turned around and stepped toward her desk. She pulled a pin out of her hair and tossed it onto the desk. There were several pictures on her desk now and a small Bonsai treee on her table. She waved at the replicator. “I’m afraid I can’t offer a fresh cooked meal tonight. I hope here is okay for dinner. My head’s been hurting some and I’m not up for the mess hall.” She figured as excited as she was about her project it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to accidentally influence others or herself.

Rainns was happily surprised by Sharah’s sudden hug. “It was my pleasure.” he responded with a smile. Joseph walked over to the couch and sat down on it. “You know I wish I had changed into pajamas. I could sleep on this thing right now.” He said as he closed his eyes, his smile still permeating his face.

Sharah looked at him, her head tilted to the side, ‘Really?’ She tried to shrug, “Well if you want to go change by all means. Then I can too.” She walked over and picked up the tree and took it over to the sink. She added water to it, and then pulled a small bottle of the counter to add a few drops to the water. Then she put it back on the table. “I told you if you’re relaxed here and can rest you are always welcome to.”

Rainns got up from couch. “Give me two minutes.” He said. He then proceeded to exit Fayth’s quarters. Several minutes passed before the young man walked through the door, wearing a cotton t shirt and sweat pants. He once again headed for the couch. Reclining on it he grinned. “I was nervous somebody was going to see me, but thankfully I was not spotted.”

Sharah took the opportunity to change into clean clothes, a long brown skirt and a peach cotton shirt. She needed a change of background noise from the buzzing in her head. The music was entirely instrumental: Vivaldi’s Summer. She usually played her background music louder than most people, but she turned it down several degrees from what she usually listened to. When Rainns returned she was already sitting on the couch. Two glasses of water sitting on the table.
“As much time as you spend down here, I would think the corridors could be packed and you still wouldn’t be seen.”

Rainns laughed. “I’m not sure that would be the case.” Joseph looked over at Sharah, “You look beautiful as always.” He took his glass of water and had a sip. He leaned back on the couch. “I love Vivaldi.” He said, raising one of his hands and waving it to the tone of the music, as if he were conducting an orchestra. “Used to listen to his music all the time back in the academy, haven’t really done since I’ve been on Challenger.”

“I bet you could do it.” She blushed again. Really? She rolled her mental eyes at herself for being so....something. “Thank you.” She watched him conducting in the air. “I like seeing you this relaxed.” She sipped at her glass. “I really love his music, the way it changes so suddenly from one theme to the next. I listen to it a lot when I need a distraction from what’s in my head.” She stood up and walked over to the replicator. “What would you like to eat?”

“I happen to like being this relaxed Doc.” Joseph said. He watched her get up and head over to the replicator. “Surprise me sweetheart, I don’t really have a preference at the moment.” The thought that one day, this setting, Rainns and Fayth together every night, with music playing and both of them happy to be with each other, could become home to him, made Joseph happy. He was filled with content and happiness. The more time he spent with Sharah the more he felt that his future would be with her. He knew it would, but somehow that confidence grew more and more with each moment they shared together.
