Fayth shrugged, “It doesn’t need to be pretty, it just needs to function.” Her answer was clipped, but in a distracted way. She’d picked up the tricorder and was searching for the Comfrey. While Rainns worked, she wandered off searching for the plant. She found it farther downstream and out into the field. She gathered what she could hold and returned to the stream. She placed it in the shallow bowl. “See it’s not as deep of a purple as what comfrey is, and instead of hanging over it splays out. But they are similar.” She compared it to the picture in the file. She put water in the deeper bowl. It held rather than absorbing into the clay. Her face split into a huge smile. “It works. I couldn’t have done that myself, thank you.” She picked up the bowl with water and handed the other one to Rainns. “Now to see if we can make the medicine.” She moved back towards the pilot. She set the bowl down and began riping the pilots sleeve and then pant leg off and into strips. “I’ll have to set the shoulder and the leg. The flower needs to be crushed, or ripped, and then mixed with the water to make a paste like consistency. Then it needs to be heated.” Despite the pilot being a hologram, Sharah treated him like a patient, speaking soft and calm. Explaining what she was going to do. This part was actually easier in the holodeck. He was going to be in a lot of pain and she didn’t have to feel it. She braced the shoulder, grabbed his arm, and with surprising swiftness she popped the shoulder into place. The hologram screamed once and then settled. She moved down towards the leg and shook her head. “I don’t think even a hologram will hold still for this one.” The leg had no broken skin, but both the bones and radial fractures. Setting it would cause extreme pain in a real patient.
Cadet Fayth, DoctorRainns did his best to keep up with the doctor. “So what exactly do you need me to do at this moment?” he asked.

Sharah glanced up, “Hold him down.” She turned back to the leg, feeling along the bone to determine how far she had to twist it back. She waited till Rainns had a hold of the pilot. She manuvered the pilot’s hip and then knee into a straight position. She moved down to the foot, grabbed the lower leg, and glanced up. “Ready? I have no idea how realistic the computer will make this.” She waited for Rainns to say he was ready. She grabbed the pilots leg and as quickly as possible she twisted the leg back into place and set the bones. The pilot jerked up screaming, after a moment he subsided, seemingly passed out.
“Alright. So now you get to make the medicine. You use the whole flower, you can toss the stem and leaves. You can crush them by hand or use whatever you can find. Then add water to make the paste. Then we have to heat it up.” Sharah then walked off, she came back a few minutes later with two long sticks. She laid one on either side of the broken leg and ripped several strips from the already ripped pant leg. She used three of them to tie the sticks to make a splint for the leg. She sat back and waited to see if Rainns would be able to make the compress for the pain.
Cadet Fayth, Doctor“Lets rock and roll” Rainns said, taking hold of the holographic pilot. Even though he knew the man wasn’t real, he felt a certain level of discomfort from hearing his screams. Afterward, he was told to make medicine for the guy, something he really had no interest in doing, but he wanted to help Sharah, so he persisted on. He crushed up several flowers and proceeded to get some water from the bank. After which he mixed the too together and fired a quick beam from the phaser to heat the mixture up. He smiled at himself. Memories of the biology labs he had gone threw in the Academy appearing in his mind, he had always hated those classes. “I believe this is complete.” He stated, looking at his concoction with skepticism.

“I know this isn’t your area, but I appreciate the help. The idea is that the program works for non-medical personnel in case of an emergency. I probably should have waited outside while you did it all,” She shrugged, “but today’s goal is to see if we can even complete to program.” She looked down at the concoction he had made. “It looks great, and it’s hot.” She grinned, and grabbed another strip of cloth. She used her hand to scoop the mixture onto the strip of cloth. “We put this around where the break was and his shoulder. It gets applied over where the pain is. If the wound was open we would have to be more careful not to get this inside the wound.” She placed the cloth with the compress over the broken area of the leg and then wrapped the cloth around the leg to keep it in place. She did the same thing to the shoulder that had been dislocated. “It can be made stronger by adding more of the flower to it, but it’s an anti-inflammatory so it will help with swelling and over stressed nerves, but not cut the pain like a narcotic pain reliever.” She sat back wiping her hands on one of the extra strips of cloth. “In a real situation we would need to change the compress at least every hour to help. Right now we wait till the computer decides if we did everything we were supposed to.” She tried to sit calmly. Rainns help had been huge, but she would wait for the computer before she would let herself celebrate.
Cadet Fayth, Doctor
Rainns sat back against the wrecked debris. “How long do you need to wait for?” he asked, picking up a small rock and tossing it up and down.
