side-sim Sharah's quarters unpacking

Sharah returned to her quarters to find a trunk in her room. There was a PaDD on top with a note that this trunk had been in cargo bay 2 and under quarantine. Sharah stepped back rather quickly and grabbed her tricorder from her pocket. She scanned it very carefully and checked the results with the computer. No parasite. Sharah shook her head at herself. Maybe she was being a little paranoid. She pulled the trunk over to her chair and sat down to open it.
Inside were the rest of her clothes. She put them away to find her photos packed underneath. She put them on her desk. There were five of them of different sizes. The first was of her parents and her as a baby with Andrew on her father’s lab, and the second was a picture of her and her brother when she was about 8. The third was a picture of Andrew at his graduation from the Academy. The fourth was her and Andrew; Sharah had been 15, they were at the hospital together, and she did not look well in the picture. She loved the photo though. Andrew had come home to see her when he found out she was sick. He had only been able to stay for a day before he had to report for duty. The last picture Sharah put in a drawer. She was little, about 4 and she was holding a small orange kitten. She kept the picture to remind herself, but she didn’t want it on the desk.
Finally she looked into the trunk and lifted out a stasis box. “Oh I hope you’re okay. How could I forget you weren’t with me?” Sharah set the box carefully on her desk. She released the lock and took the cover off. Inside was a beautiful Cherry Blossom Bonsai tree. It seemed okay, the stasis field had still been intact. She would have been heart broken if her tree had died. She checked the water bowl and it was a little low. The water was also old. She took the pot over to the sink and emptied the old water out and refilled it. She carried the pot carefully over to the table by her couch. She set it in the middle and instructed the computer to provide soft, indirect light for it. She touched the leaves and petals softly, “Oliver would never forgive me if something had happened to you.”
She smiled thinking back to the tiny baby tree that had become one of her most precious possessions. Her illness had made her loose track of some things. She was thankful the stasis box hadn’t failed. “Oh, Olly, I haven’t talked to you in so long. Where are you now?” Sharah picked up the pot and put it in her lab checking the trunk and roots carefully to make sure they really were okay and then gently put the pot back on the table.
