Joseph looked around the room and was quickly fixated on the pulsar ‘Nice timing’ he thought, taking a seat on one of the couches. ‘Quite the majestic scene.’

‘I thought you might like it,’ Sharah replied. ‘I like this view. It allows us to see what’s in front of us and what we’ve passed. 9-forward only shows us where we’re going. Which is amazing, but this view is unique.’ She sat down on the couch next to him retaining her hold on his hand.

Rainns smiled, ‘I like this room’ he squeezed Sharah’s hand. ‘Call me a hopeless philosopher, but I’ve always believed that one’s past is the key to the future. In the same way as by passing something, we can know where Challenger will go next.’ He took a deep breath and laid his head back on the couch. ‘I’m a very happy man right now Sharah, thank you for allowing me to be so.’

‘You would like Betazed. We are a culture of hopeless philosophers. Many people spend days staring at paintings contemplating the meaning of life or reading tomb after tomb of philosophy. I tend to agree, every choice I have made has brought me here to this moment and depending on my choices will determine where I end up next.’ She pulled her legs onto the couch curling up slightly. She laid her head back on the couch as well and slightly against Joseph’s shoulder. ‘I neither allow nor disallow your happiness, though if I am cause to your current happiness I am honored. My wish is that I will always make you feel this happy.’ Sharah stared out at the view allowing her thoughts to slide against his, feeling a deep harmony and connectedness.

‘I’ve never been, its on my bucket list.’ Joseph responded. He took his hand away from Sharah’s and moved his arm around her to pull her in closer to him. He closed his eyes and smiled. ‘I wish for that too Sharah.’ The pulsar was quite incredible and Rainns could not help but to be astonished by it. Of the reasons he joined Starfleet, seeing phenomena like this was near the top of the list.

‘I would like to take you there, show you where I grew up.’ Sharah allowed herself to be pulled closer, feeling the warmth of his arm seep down her back, especially her shoulder that she hurt during parkour class. She moved it slightly to ease the stiffness, and laid her head against his shoulder. ‘I am very happy, and you are the reason.’ She sighed contentedly. ‘I like the idea of marking things of our list…lists together.’ Her voice sounded a little drowsy and content. She had a secondary shift starting in a couple hours and she was going to take whatever time she had to relax and spend time with Joseph.

‘We’ll have to do that sometime, make a tangible list’ Rainns thought. He looked over at Fayth. ‘You seem rather tired, you should probably go back to your quarters, this doesn’t seem to be the best place for a nap.’
