‘Yes,’ Sharah took a deep breath to focus through, or with, the tide of emotions between them, ‘I want to get out of the corridor.’ She tried to take a half step back, but found she was a bit unsteady, and felt rather foolish, like a school girl. ‘I like the cliche. They come so unexpectedly and honestly they make me feel cherished.’ She held his hand a little tighter. She tried for another deep breath and found her nerves settling a little. ‘I’m not sure where, but let’s get out of the corridor.’

Joseph nodded. ‘I’m glad you appreciate the cliche.’ He smirked, ‘If you are too uneasy to walk I could carry you.’ He pointed to the end of the hallway, ‘Turbolift down there, we can go wherever you like.’ He realized at the moment how crazy the two of them most seem, not speaking a word to each other verbally and being clearly disorientated. That realization simply made his appreciation for his bond with Sharah all the stronger and greater, and his smile remained on his face.

‘Hmmm…though the idea of you carrying me off is rather romantic, I’m afraid that some poor soul would make the mistake that I’m ill again and try to hard to help,’ the image in her head was rather comical, but the real situation would be rather frustrating. ‘I guess you could always tell them I broke my ankle,’ she laughed. She held onto his arm this time as they started walking toward the turbolift, she really had no idea where she wanted to go, just away from people. ‘If we look too crazy we could always resort back to verbal communication,’ she tried to convey she was teasing, but she would if it made it easier, though she really didn’t want to.

Rainns smiled as he boarded the turbolift. ‘On the contrary, I find this form of communication superior in every way. Verbal is so much more effort and so much less intimate.’ After the door closed he looked over at Fayth. ‘you pick, I don’t have a preference and you know which spots are better for your gift.’

At this point she really was not thinking about her gift, the noise of the mess hall forgotten. She thought a moment and her eyes brightened, she started to speak and the rush of air was overly loud after the quiet of their shared thoughts. “Deck 9” she told the computer as softly as possible. When the doors opened she led Joseph down the corridor towards her quarters, but they passed them. ‘This area was designed for the prolonged recovery for patients. There is a small lounge area designed to encourage patients to get up and move around. I’ve been meaning to show you, there is an incredible view. Since the auxiliary sickbay isn’t used, no one comes down here.’ The rounded a corner and carved out of the corridor was a small area with a couple of chairs, couches, and table. The view was out the starboard side of the ship, showing a beautiful unobstructed view of the pulsar they were passing.

Joseph looked around the room and was quickly fixated on the pulsar ‘Nice timing’ he thought, taking a seat on one of the couches. ‘Quite the majestic scene.’
