Joseph Rainns led Sharah Fayth into his quarters. “Home sweet home.” He stated looking about. The quarters were fairly well kept. A dinner table was positioned in front of a window, which gave the room a portal to the vacuum of space. His bed was neatly made, with blue and red sheets. A make shift lounge area, with a reclining chair was in one corner of the quarters. In that corner was a bin full of board games and a chess set, as well as a small bookshelf with about a dozen hard back novels. A geographic map of Rainns home was on the wall, showing the North American gulf coast. “Welcome to my humble abode.” Rainns pronounced, replicator is right over there.” He motioned to the replicator, which sat in the wall next to the table.

Sharah walked in and smiled softly. This space really reflected his personality. She started to walk over and look at the map, but his mention of the replicator got her attention. She turned around walked over to the wall and ordered a grilled cheese and ice water. “I love these things.” She grinned, sat down, and waited for him to join her. “Your quarters are very you. Calm with deep meaning.” She nodded at the few things he had, but they all reflected a part of his personality or of himself that was important to him.

Rainns shrugged his shoulders. “I try to do the most with the least if that makes sense.” He couldn’t help but chuckle at Fayth’s choice of dinner. “My mom used to make those all of the time, really enjoyed them back in the day.” He walked up the replicator and ordered a simply roast beef sandwich. He then sat next to Fayth and began eating dinner. “I like to personalize my items, give a good reflection of the kind of person I am.”

She shrugged with a smile and wiped some melted cheese off her fingers. “I discovered this right after my first all night lab session at the academy. I asked for something I could eat on the run and was filling. It’s my go to food now. I can’t seem to get enough of them.” She took a sip of water looking around. Her eyes drawn to the map again. Not quite like the one she had. They were both a reflection of something important to each of them, but for different reasons. “Tell me about it,” she asked nodding towards the map.
