” He was a Captain, my great grandfather was an admiral there. I know it was a joke my moms dad and grandfather worked on the Starfleet ship yards.” Looked as his watch, ” It was a pleasure lass.” Sam stood up from his chair and headed for the exit.
“Nice meeting you!” she responded.
Sam had exited the mess hall and went to the elevator as the doors opened he had stepped in ” Computer deck 6 please “
Sam stepped off the elevator at deck 6 and went to his quarters for the night.Cadet Samuel McIntyre- Security Officer
McIntyre being one of several diners to leave the mess over the prior minutes, Aili enjoyed the newfound quiet and returned to her trance among the stars.

Now that most people had left, Cadet Trenton entered the mess in a clearly fresh uniform still a little wet from cleaning up. Her shift was due to start in a while so this was her chance to get breakfast. The replicator has thousands of possible food combinations that could be called upon, but Trenton always requested the same thing. “Nutritional Supplement Seven-Four.” In her youth, Trenton had developed a taste for the rather bland bar included in the survival packs and equipment of most Starfleet kits. Being small and easily identifiable made them prime targets to obtain and vanish while remaining mostly unnoticed. She wasn’t always successful in such endeavors and her body ached to remind her of times she failed. ‘Back in the box you go, not dealing with you yet.’
Ashlyn looked around the room to take stock of who was still there and noticed Ryan napping in a corner. She let out a small huff of a laugh and shook her head. She’ll be sure to wake him on her way out, Trenton may not like Ryan, but he can at least do his job well and she did appreciate that when things got serious he was surprisingly reliable. Instead, she chose to approach Cadet McMorran hoping for another opportunity to interact with the woman. “Mind some company?” Aili’s fascination with the stars was always interesting to watch and it did much to explain her choice in career field.

Recognising the voice creeping into her world, Aili acknowledged her without turning. “Cadet Trenton”, she half gasped before her social brain kicked into gear and her realization clicked into place. “Trenton! Yes, please. I’ve been meaning to speak to you about your little project.” She lifted her PaDD from the table in emphasis of her words.

Trenton hesitated, unsure if McMorran wanted her there or if she was still held up by Trenton’s aggressive flirting with Tandra. Trenton had found out through others that while she had been focused on then Cadet Mika, she had also succeeded at making several others uncomfortable but McMorran took it the hardest. Sure, the discomfort had been her goal, but she hadn’t intended to chase anyone away. The cadet’s thoughts on the moment were interrupted when Aili seemed to become more alert and a more genuine invitation was given out. Trenton made sure to take an angled seat so if McMorran wanted to continue her observation of the stars, she could. “The Parkour Track? I’m eager to hear what you have to say!” Trenton got comfortable and gave Aili her full undivided attention. Knowing that such close observation tends to make others uncomfortable, she took a bite from the meal bar to break up the intensity. She had come in for breakfast, she may as well eat during the conversation.

Aili was tired, it had been a long day, but she was determined to see out this one last conversation before retiring to her quarters. Trenton was clearly just beginning her day, physically freshly prepared and apparently energetic. “Well, I have been awfully busy. But! The fact that I realised I could do with the use of a program like this gave me some extra motivation SO”, she swiped her finger across the PaDD before placing it back down and sliding it towards the other cadet, “I’ve thrown a very rough sample together.” The PaDD displayed a recording taken from a camera mounted to someone’s forehead, seemingly Aili’s, as they traversed a course of highly geometric and clearly digitally created obstacles. She allowed a gentle smirk to form, seeing no reason to hide her cockiness, slight as it was, over what she felt was her impressive success. “Tricking the computer into allowing the drops wasn’t too challenging. I just went into the back end and placed imaginary surfaces of zero thickness in between to trick it. I can’t believe no one accounted for that in the safety protocols!”

Trenton watched the video with rapt attention, wincing when it was clear the runner slipped or misjudged something but otherwise showing more excitement over the course. “This is awesome! May I ask how much longer until you complete the program? Can you show me how to add more to it as time goes on or if I decide to change the course later?” It was clear to Trenton that the runner in the video also had an interest in the course even if they were not into the art itself. This made it exciting for her knowing that someone else may share an interest. “Oh! I’ll also need to add a more beginner centric area. I’ve taken on a student of Parkour and I don’t want to intimidate them with a mid-level course with no place for them to start.”
