USS Challenger
DH's Office - Cadet Kyle Anders reporting for duty.
As the light blue hue of the transporter beam faded from the eyes of Cadet Kyle Anders, the pit in his stomach grew larger. He’d never seen a transporter room this size before now. The Challenger’s transporter operator stared at him, confused for a moment as he stared in awe at, what she saw as, a regular old transporter pad. Kyle took a nervous step off the pad and walked up to the transporter control console.
“Your Department Head is waiting for you in his office,” the officer said, smiling at how nervous the young cadet looked.
“Thanks” Kyle replied, absentmindedly clicking his knuckles out of nervousness. He grabbed his bag, that for some reason felt twice as heavy all of a sudden and headed out of the door into the corridor. After spending what felt like hours looking at a computer console to see where to find the Cheif of Security’s office, he found the nearest turbolift and hopped in. He was relieved to know that, at 21 years of age, Kyle was not the youngest officer serving on the Challenger. Kyle approached the office, clicked the chime, and waited to be permitted entry.
