IC: NE Jones nodded around the room. “Plenty of them in here now. Cadet McMorran is a talented science officer. She gave a talk earlier this week. I went and it was really something. You should introduce yourself. You never know who you are going to be paired with on an away team or on any assignment the captain or department heads give us.”

Aili mentally looked up at the mention of her name but physically managed to keep her gaze on the PaDD. She sighed lightly. If someone was to approach her she certainly wouldn’t brush them off, as much as she may be inclined to in the moment. The cadet was commited to socialising and getting to know as many members of the crew as possible, especially the other cadets. It just so happened she was keen to be getting on with that evening. Outwardly nonplussed, she continued tapping away at her device.

Sam looked over at Cadet McMorran and raised an eyebrow ” I appreciate the advice thank you.” Taking the last drink outta his cup. Sam had gotten up and walked over to were he threw away his trash and put the dirty dishes away in the bin to be washed.
Sam moved back through the crowds of personal the way he came to were Cadet McMorran was sitting, ” I would like to introduce myself I am Cadet Samuel McIntyre, may I join ya lass ?” His accent was clearly starting to show more and normally he would calm less fidgety or starting to sweat.

Her personal bubble finally burst, McMorran looked up at the other cadet. “Cadet Aili McMorran! Please.” She gestured to the empty seat opposite her. “It’s always nice to meet a fellow cadet.” Her chin raised so her eyes were looking slightly downwards at McIntyre. “Is than an Edinburgh accent I detect?”, she asked with keen interest.

” Aye it is and like wise it is good to meet others finally.” Sam had sat opposite of his fellow cadet. “Glasgow if I’m not mistaken?” Detection of Cadet McMorran’s accent, ” So watch ya working on?”

OOC: Just fixing the split again. I posted the last fix just before you responded, hence creating another split. :D It’s always a good idea to check the post list again just before you hit post to check if there’s been a new response. I know that’s difficult on mobile. I think some other users write their posts in ‘notes’, or wherever, then copy it into the site when they’re ready to post. Just an FYI!

“That’s right!”, McMorran exclaimed, “Or near enough. It’s nice to have a fellow Scot around!” She pushed the PaDD she had been using away from her. “Working on? Well, the CSO requests a research project of all his cadets. I’m working on something to do with gravitational waves and mapping the stars.” She motioned her finger, pointing out her PaDD. “I just hope it comes to something. What about you? What do security officers actually spend the average day doing? Punching each other?” She laughed gently, keen to not seem condescending.
