A long day has passed as Cadet McIntyre entered the mess hall for dinner. Grabbing his try and a drink he moved along to an empty table and sat down, laying his silverware out in orderly fashion and placing his napkin in his lap. Normally he would have just went to his quarters and had a snack or a quick meal without communicating with his fellow Starfleet personnel. * he took a sip of his coffee and placed back on the table.* As personal began to come to dinner.

OOC: NE means Nameless Ensign. You can use them as you want to move forward the plot of your side-sim or to help with character development or what not. In this case I’m playing an NE because my usual character is unable to attend the meal. Oh and OOC is out of character information and IC is in character. I wasn’t sure if anyone told you that or not.

IC:
Several cadets came pouring into the mess hall as their shifts ended. They began to fill up the tables and the volume seemed to increase and decrease in a wave like pattern as people alternately talked or ate their food. Another young NE security officer walked over, “This seat taken?”
NE Security Officer

Occ: Thank you for you for the heads up.

Ic: looking up from his tray ” No it’s not.” Sam replied

Cadet Samuel McIntyre- Security Officer

NE Security Officer sat down in the chair. He wasn’t sure if the Cadet wanted company, but he was going to sit anyway. NE had spent a lot of time watching Lt. Rainns move up from cadet to Lt. jg. Rainns wasn’t much for small talk, but he was all for building a stronger security team. He had learned from watching him it was important to know who your team mates might be, so in the vein NE decided he was going to help this cadet be part of the security team. “I’m NE Jones. I’ve been here about 6 months. I haven’t seen you before, so I guess you just on boarded. What do you think of the Challenger?”

Cadet McMorran was sat at the next table over, gazing at the streaking stars beyond the mess hall window, her mind having drifted away from her PaDD and the computations she had been running through it. Her escapism was disturbed by the words of the other officers. Drat, she thought with an internal sigh. She had chosen her table as she so often did with the intent of avoiding noisy conversations interloping into her bubble. The cadet quietly resigned herself to tolerating the disturbance as she picked up her PaDD and returned to work.

Cadet Aili McMorran - Science

NE Jones observed Alili’s frustration. He had been practicing using body language to interpret what was going on around him. He made a significant effort to lower his voice so as not to disturb Cadet McMorran.
NE Jones

” Cadet Samuel McIntyre pleasure to meet you. Yes I just boarded the challenger other day still going through my boarding process still. It’s a fascinating ship.”

Cadet Samuel McIntyre- Security Officer

NE Jones nodded. “It can be and always new faces. Have you met the new department head, CSO Rainns yet? Or any of the other new cadets? This is a great place to meet them. “
NE Jones

” I have meet with Lt. Rainns and Lt. Mika already I’ve yet to meet other cadets yet.”

IC: NE Jones nodded around the room. “Plenty of them in here now. Cadet McMorran is a talented science officer. She gave a talk earlier this week. I went and it was really something. You should introduce yourself. You never know who you are going to be paired with on an away team or on any assignment the captain or department heads give us.”

Sam looked over at Cadet McMorran and raised an eyebrow ” I appreciate the advice thank you.” Taking the last drink outta his cup. Sam had gotten up and walked over to were he threw away his trash and put the dirty dishes away in the bin to be washed.
Sam moved back through the crowds of personal the way he came to were Cadet McMorran was sitting, ” I would like to introduce myself I am Cadet Samuel McIntyre, may I join ya lass ?” His accent was clearly starting to show more and normally he would calm less fidgety or starting to sweat.
