Winston’s anxiety began to subside as he exited the turbolift. He had managed to not make a fool of himself in front of his department head, at least he thought. Walking down the corridor, the halls of the ship seemed to overwhelm him less, instead inspiring awe, a feeling of grand adventure and discovery. And to think this was only a training vessel for cadets.... It excited him to no end. Standing at the door of the Counselor’s office, he pulled his uniform taut and straightened himself out. For the first time that he was here, his hands weren’t shaky. He confidently tapped on the panel next to the door.
“This is Cadet Greiss. I’m here for my evaluation.”
