Mika smiled. “It’s all in the job description you know,” she said with a shrug. “It’s Mika,” she added, “And yours…?”
“Tristan, Tristan Halloway,” he replied.
She asked, as she picked up a PaDD and tricorder and headed towards the biobed. “No surprises, huh? No crazy, out of Federation trips? No stunts that ended in a broken bone that might not be on here already? No weird illnesses?” She liked how much personality Halloway had, though she had to admit he’d picked the right profession. His uniform was that of an engineer.
-Cadet Tandra Mika, Doctor“Heh, nothing too crazy that isn’t documented…I did once contract Correllium fever on a transport from Nahmi IV, when I was 15. That wasn’t fun,” he paused, the tricorder beeping filling the immediate air around them. “But, that was ten years ago and I think I’m all better now,” he added with a chuckle. “The artificial gravity plating has been springball with my stomach, though, Mika.”
She smiled before replying, which broke his concentration on the moment.

“Yeah, that is a nasty one,” she commented as she made sure the past illness was documented.
“Oh, has it? I’m sure you’ll get used to it,” Mika was quite a smiler, yes, but it was more of a friendly smile than anything. “Or, if you’re still having trouble with it after a while, you can always come back and ask.” She began scanning him with the tricorder, eyes focused on the screen as she did.

Tristan blinked back into reality, “Oh yes, I was bed-ridden the entire way home. Luckily, it’s a once and done kind of thing. Like the measles, if I remember right. If my stomach doesn’t cooperate, I’ll be sure to pay you a visit in this… extraordinary sickbay…”
Tristan turned his body to look around, just now realizing all the amazing tech that surrounded him in the Discovery’s sickbay. “This place is quite the sight.”

OOC: So, since it’s your charrie Mika is scanning, you get to decide what the scanner says, aha :)
IC:
“Woah, hold still a seecond longer,” Mika said, as she had still been scanning him with the tricorder. “Yes,” she continued, “It’s quite the ship. I’m glad I got the chance to be placed here.” Though, to be honest, Mika would be happy with the oldest ship in the fleet, as long as she got to be a doctor aboard it.-Cadet Tandra Mika, Doctor
Tristan shuffled in his makeshift seat on the end of the biobed, returning his hands to their clasp in his lap.
“Ah yes, sorry about that. Growing up my family has always been here or there on freighters and transports. Dad was a freighter captain, my mother an engineer with him. I was always finding ways to sneak around, tinker with things…” he smiled at the memories of being younger and aloof, “got me in trouble more than once,” his head dropped to stare at his hands intertwined, a slight sigh escaping with it.
“So to come aboard, to this… well, it’s a bit remarkable. Main Engineering is quite the sight. The chance to breathe history here, it’s quite the opportunity.”
“Yeah, it really is. Not that I know anything about engineering. Actually, my parents owned a clothing shop, so I really went out there with this,” She told him, after listening to his story.
Tristan chuckled, “Yes, you are certainly braving a new frontier out here in Starfleet. There’s just something about the stars…”
His gaze had lifted to the lighting above him, but was broken by the tricorder trilling in what he recognized as a positive sentiment. An innocent, placating grin shown across Tristan’s face, “I take it that means good news?”
- Cadet Halloway, Engineer
“Yep, that’s good news!” Mika said, putting away the tricorder. “You’re all clear.” She smiled again and added, “And enjoy your time on the ship, I look forward to seeing you around.”

With a light grunt Tristan hoisted himself off the biobed, “Great! Thank you, I look forward to that as well. Who knows where this ship will take us, right?”
Tristan smiled brightly, turned on his heel again, and made his way out of sickbay into the corridor. Checking his PaDD, ticking away at his duty list, he entered the turbolift for his final check-in. “Computer, deck 3… counselor’s office.”
