Making his way into Sickbay, K’sang stopped and began to look at the various panels in his line of sight. Things looked very different on a federation ship, “Cadet K’sang reporting for Medical Physical.”

At the sound of the voice, a petite Bajoran with copper hair tied back into a ponytail looked up from a console and right at the cadet. Normally she let her cadets handle most of the medical evaluations, but with the high influx of new cadets they had all been very busy and so Tija didn’t even check if anyone else was available and decided to take care for this evaluation herself. “Welcome on board the Challenger,” she greeted Duras in friendly, if reserved way. Pointing at one of the empty biobeds, she added, “Please have a seat.”

While pulling up his medical file on a PaDD, Tija followed him. As she was standing right in front of Duras not only her numerous pale brown freckles were clearly visible, but also the thin white scar that ran along her hairline from her right temple to her right ear. “Over the course of the past six months, have you experienced any changes in your sleep or eating habits? Any injuries or illness that may not be noted in your medical file? And/or have you traveled outside of Federation space?” she asked right away; as always getting right to work.

“Yes, no, and yes” he replied, carefully removing his baldric K’sang gently placed it at the foot of the bio bed before taking a seat. “As you know, Klingon being involved in Star Fleet is a rarity. As such a majority of my training took place on the fringes of KS-7 in the Donatu Sector, with several expeditions to the fringes of the Klach D’kel Brakt to collect data on Metaphasic Radiation. I believe you know it as the Briar Patch, dietary changes include replicated Gagh. Which tastes better with those granulated sodium crystals, also I may still show signs of elevated macrophage levels after joining my nephiew for his test of courage. I’ll spare you the details, but it involves drinking tea that is brewed from a plant with mild toxins.” Adjusting to sit up straight he added, “No new physical injuries to report.”

Before attaining that thousand mile stare at the bulkhead, K’sang took note of her scar. “I was under the impression Bajorans placed their name before station Doctor, unfortunately I didn’t catch yours. Or your d’ja pagh to make a guess.” Raising an eyebrow, he slightly tilted his head in her direction.
