<snip>Once inside, Mika took a deep breath, to calm and focus herself. Phew, made it! she thought, and it was a mere moment later that Cadet Halloway entered the sickbay. As soon as he did, she turned around, a bit too quickly, and said, “Oh, hello. Did you need something?” After she’d said it, Mika realized that she did not recognize the Cadet, and that he was probably here for an eval, but she kept quiet to let him say it for himself. She didn’t seem to realize that she’d just nearly mowed him over, either.
-Cadet Tandra Mika, DoctorTristan blinked, and took a look around sickbay for anyone resembling who he was looking for originally. His attention reverted back to the cadet, a petite woman with striking eyes. Another flush crept around the edge of his face.
“I uhh… hello, yes! I’m Cadet Halloway, reporting for my physical, per boarding procedure.”
He took a couple steps forward to greet his fellow cadet, flattening out his uniform against his frame, extending a handshake. “I’m Tristan, I was told to report to chief medical officer Tija.” He paused to note her uniform, continuing, “you wouldn’t happen to know which way to point me? Oh, uh, apologies as well…” he gestured behind him to the door, attempting to bring a bit of levity to the conversation, “…for loitering out there in the corridor.”

”…Huh?” Mika asked. “Oh, that was you! Uh, I’m sorry for… almost running into you.” She said, shaking her head at herself, embarrassed. She hadn’t realized this was the same Cadet she’d narrowly avoided just seconds earlier, which only made her embarrassment worse. “Completely my fault. But anyway, actually us medical Cadets usually do boarding physicals, so I can get that done right away for you.” She explained, shaking his hand. “That way Lieutenant Tija can get other things done, you know?” It seemed right away that she shook off the earlier incident, getting right down to business, but in her own mind, she would certainly be thinking about that one for hours.

Tristan followed the cadets lead to an empty biobed, sitting up on it with his hands clasped in his lap.
“Thanks for taking some time to make sure the ole mortal coil stays in place,” tapping his chest with an open hand with a grin. “My file shouldn’t hold any surprises, Cadet…”
He paused to take a mental check, studying the moments prior before smiling and coming back to the moment, “ya know, I’m sorry I don’t think I got your name?”

Mika smiled. “It’s all in the job description you know,” she said with a shrug. “It’s Mika,” she added, “And yours…?”
“Tristan, Tristan Halloway,” he replied.
She asked, as she picked up a PaDD and tricorder and headed towards the biobed. “No surprises, huh? No crazy, out of Federation trips? No stunts that ended in a broken bone that might not be on here already? No weird illnesses?” She liked how much personality Halloway had, though she had to admit he’d picked the right profession. His uniform was that of an engineer.
-Cadet Tandra Mika, Doctor“Heh, nothing too crazy that isn’t documented…I did once contract Correllium fever on a transport from Nahmi IV, when I was 15. That wasn’t fun,” he paused, the tricorder beeping filling the immediate air around them. “But, that was ten years ago and I think I’m all better now,” he added with a chuckle. “The artificial gravity plating has been springball with my stomach, though, Mika.”
She smiled before replying, which broke his concentration on the moment.

“Yeah, that is a nasty one,” she commented as she made sure the past illness was documented.
“Oh, has it? I’m sure you’ll get used to it,” Mika was quite a smiler, yes, but it was more of a friendly smile than anything. “Or, if you’re still having trouble with it after a while, you can always come back and ask.” She began scanning him with the tricorder, eyes focused on the screen as she did.

Tristan blinked back into reality, “Oh yes, I was bed-ridden the entire way home. Luckily, it’s a once and done kind of thing. Like the measles, if I remember right. If my stomach doesn’t cooperate, I’ll be sure to pay you a visit in this… extraordinary sickbay…”
Tristan turned his body to look around, just now realizing all the amazing tech that surrounded him in the Discovery’s sickbay. “This place is quite the sight.”
