It was starting to set in that Mel was officially Cadet Booker, engineering officer aboard the USS Challenger. She’d spent hours going over the specs of the Discovery-class ship, and was more than ready to get into all of it. The boarding physical was just another step towards solidifying that. She stepped into Sickbay, scanning the room and its contents for any medical personnel present, before she cleared her throat, “Excuse me, Cadet Mel Booker, reporting in for my boarding physical.”
- Cdt. Mel Booker (Engineering)
OOC: Welcome aboard, Anna! This is a great post! I’ll see if one of my cadets has the time to take over your evaluation so I’m holding off replying to it myself for now. I hope that is okay for you. ~Silke
OOC: I’ll be the cadet doing your eval! As said, welcome aboard :)
IC:
It was Cadet Mika who happened to be there when Mel entered, announcing that she was here for her check-in eval. “Oh, I can get that done for you.” She said, gesturing for Mel to come into the sickbay. “You said your name’s Booker? I’m Mika.” She introduced. “You can have a seat.”
-Cadet Tandra Mika, DoctorOOC: Thanks! Excited to get to it.
IC:
“Nice to meet you.” She nodded, following the doctor’s instructions and moving to sit down. Noting the other officer’s rank, Mel asked, “You mind if I ask how long you’ve been here? Not that I doubt your ability, or anything, just trying to gauge where all us cadets are at.”-Cdt. Mel Booker, Engineer
“A few months. Long enough to get the hang of things, no doubt,” Mika said, adding on, “There’s quite a few of us Cadets, ranging from having been here a few months or longer to being as new as you.” She wondered if Mel was as nervous as Mika had been when she started. Mel certainly didn’t seem at all nervous, which Mika kind of admired, honestly.
She picked up a PaDD and a tricorder and stood a length away from Mel. “Alright, let’s get down to it. Anything that might not be in your file that I should know about? Like, an injury, or an illness, or an out-of-Federation trip.” She asked.
