“Lieutenant,” Adinah beamed, although the smile was a bit forced as she panicked over the fact that she’d actually spoken to the woman. This hadn’t exactly been planned but well…here they were.

“Of course, please sit down. We were just discussing being on the ship and perhaps making a bonding experience for the medical cadets. Something to share knowledge and maybe just meet each other outside of work?” Adinah’s voice got slowly higher pitched as she spoke, obviously becoming a bit less confident as she did and looking over to Cadet Mika for some help.

Cadet Gartenberg (Doctor)

Tija returned the smile and placed her tray on the table before slipping onto one of the empty chairs. “That is a good idea,” she said and then lifted her cup to her lips to take a sip. However, she ended up with that stray strand of her in her mouth. Putting the cup down, she tipped her head backwards and pulled the elastic out of her hair only to pull all of her hair back into a neat ponytail right away. While she did that, she continued talking, saying, “A similar idea has been on my mind and thus I’m currently planning a symposium for the medical and science department. I haven’t decided on a topic yet, so if there is anything either of you would like to discuss: I’m open for suggestions.” With her hair now satisfactorily back in order, she took another sip of tea.

“Oh, a symposium, huh?” Mika said. Her voice also became just a tad strained, instantly on her best behavior in the presence of the Lieutenant. “That sounds like a good idea, actually, especially with the science department included too. But as for topic…” She said, thinking. “I’m not sure. Honestly, I was just thinking of a chance to chat with everyone.” She said, with a small chuckle.

OOC: It’s all good. All three of us have been really busy lately :)

Tija nodded slightly, her gaze fixed on the cup in her hands. Her body language hinted at a certain amount of unease, but as she looked back up the hint of a smile played across her lips and she said, “Something informal in addition to a symposium is a good idea, Cadet Mika.” Looking from one to the other she continued, “How would the two of you feel about organizing something together?”

Mika glanced at Dinah and shrugged. “We could do that. Maybe.. anyone who wants to come, and isn’t too busy, can?” She said, looking back to Tija. “I bet most the Cadets would like that.” She still felt the pressure to act on her best behavior just because the Lieutenant was there, so much so she barely noticed Tija call her ‘Cadet Mika’, which she wasn’t particularly fond of. Outside of formal work, just ‘Mika’ worked better for her. “And, we could make it from a few weeks from now, just to allow time for the word to get around.” She added, just thinking of it then. She was getting rather excited about the idea, after all she had been wanting to get to know more of the ship’s crew.
