Cadet Schweitzer walked confidently toward Sickbay and the office of the Chief Medical Officer contained therein. He was much more confident with this check-in than any of his other stops on his first day on the Challenger. He was confident in his training and knew that he could make a contribution to this Sickbay. What he was less sure about was Lieutenant Tija herself. Although he had studied Bajoran physiology (and especially their pathology) extensively, he had never worked with a member of her species. However, her reputation for professionalism, excellence, and attention to duty preceded her, so Schweitzer hoped that there would not be a great deal of small talk required.

He pushed the doorbell, waited for the doors to open, and strode toward the Lieutenant’s desk. “Good evening, Lieutenant. Cadet Schweitzer reporting as ordered.”
