OOC: Welcome aboard, Scott! That is a really good post! I hope you’ll enjoy it here :)

IC:
The moment he was within reach of the door sensors, the doors to sickbay swished open in front of him. At the sound of it a Trill with long blond hair turned around and made her way over towards him. She had been doing some inventory and thus was still holding a case of vials for a hypospray in her hand. “Hello,” she greeted him with a warm smile. “You must be one of the new cadets. Please come in. I’m Ensign Priel, one of the medical technicians on the Challenger. I hope you had a safe trip here.” Gesturing towards one of the biobeds, she added, “Please have a seat on one of the biobeds and I’ll get one of the doctors to take care of your medical evaluation.”

OOC: I’m loving it so far.

IC:
James walked in with a grin as he was greeted, he gave a cold yet authentic smile. He said “Yes I am, I hope for a safe trip as well, I don’t like space much” whilst he was jumping on the biobed. He sat on the biobed waiting patiently. His hands were place behind him to support his body and his smile shortly faded into a serious expression and spouted after he got comfortable “Let’s just get this over with.”

Adinah perked up almost immediately upon hearing that NE Priel was looking for a doctor. She was loving being on the ship and learning so much, but now that she was getting little tastes of practicing medicine again she was craving actually being able to do so, even if it was only check ins.

“I can handle this one Ensign Priel,” Adinah stated, casually inserting herself in the conversation as if she hasn’t been eagerly waiting for this very thing. With slightly wide and pleasing eyes, that she carefully hid from the other cadet, she silently begged NE Priel to agree and walk away. Adinah couldn’t figure out why Ensign Priel wouldn’t, but she was still a bit nervous about making these kinds of decisions on her own.

“Perfect!” NE Priel replied wit a broad smile. “I’ll let you get to it then and return to inventory our equipment.” That said, the Trill turned on her heels and returned to her other tasks.

Adinah started pulling out her PaDD anyway though, pulling up all the new cadets on board in excitement.

“Hello!” Douglas shouted impatiently.

Adinah’s excited smile immediately shifted into her best customer service smile, a little plastic and too cheerful. “Cadet,” Adinah stated calmly, her voice the overly cheerful but not friendly public service tone she’d perfected, “please be patient with the few seconds it takes for us to make sure we have everything in order. This process won’t take long at all so long as we’re both cooperative.”

“I’m Cadet Gartenberg,” Adinah began, internally just getting ready to get this whole process over with. “Can I please have your name so we can proceed?”

Cadet Gartenberg (Medical)

Douglas gives a fake apologetic smile, “Sorry, My name is Cadet James Hilton Douglas.” He looked concerned before stating, “My file is quiet extensive.” He gave a small grin and spoke “Relax, we’re both cadets, I see through that smile.”

Adinah kept her face firmly in its cheerful mode as she finished reading the cadet’s file. “I’m merely being polite Cadet Douglas,” Adinah stated simply, finally looking up from her PaDD. “I find it helps when working with so many different people to remain polite and get work done.”

“Sorry, I understand. I’m not good with being social” Douglas chuckled.

Tapping at her PaDD a bit to pull up the proper fields, Adinah began asking her regular questions: “have you had an major injuries or illnesses in the past 6 months or anything that isn’t in your file? Have you experienced any changes is eating or sleeping patterns? Have you been to any non-federation planets in the past 6 months?”

Cadet Gartenberg (Medical)

Looking up trying to remember, “No illnesses or injuries I can recall. Sleeping has been… well it hasn’t been great since I’ve entered the academy, eating is fine, and no I have no left federation space recently either.”
