Devon paused outside the open doorway to Sickbay. How many times had he been poked and prodded as he made his path to Starfleet? It doesn’t matter. He knew he wasn’t as athletic as some, but he wasn’t completely hopeless either. All those hours playing volleyball made quite a difference, though he was relegated to forever being on the back row, thanks to his average height. Steeling himself for one more doctor’s visit, he enters sickbay, and glances around, hoping to see the doctor. Spotting the short Bajoran doctor, Devon catches her eye, and walks over, extending his hand with a small smile. “Hello Doctor, I’m Cadet Devon Collins, reporting for my onboarding physical. It’s nice to meet you!”

OOC: Welcome aboard, Doug! That is really good first post! There are just a few tiny things to keep in mind. Here at STF we write in the past tense and we also sign our posts. The letter is important in threads with multiple people so that - even several posts in - you can still easily tell who wrote what. And we try not to make assumptions about other people’s characters. I don’t mind as it was such a small thing in this case. And yet it’s good to keep that in mind for the future. Any way, I hope you’ll enjoy being here :) Oh and don’t mind my CMO, she can be a bit curt at times.

“Hello Cadet Collins and welcome aboard,” Tija replied with a nod and the hint of a smile. As usual her ginger hair was tied back in a neat ponytail, leaving not only her Bajoran earring, but also the white scar that ran along her hairline on the right side of her face from her temple to ear, clearly visible. Instead of taking his proffered hand, she gestured towards the nearest biobed and continued, “Please have a seat.” That said she went to grab a PaDD and tricorder before walking towards the biobed herself.
