Cadet Rainns made his way down the corridor towards the Counselor’s office. Unlike his other two check ins, he was not in the slightest nervous about this particular appointment. Joseph Rainns considered himself to be a picture of mental fitness. He had no traumatic experiences as a child or in his early and budding adulthood. His family were all still alive and well, and the most stress he had ever been under was academically based as he had always aimed for perfection, and despite some exceptions, had mostly achieved that goal. He felt he was well on his way to the Captain’s chair, although he knew it would be awhile until he got there.
Rains approached the door to the Counselor’s office, made sure his uniform looked appropriate, and stepped in.
