<snip></> Garth to Lieutenant Vras. Lieutenant Aizala has discovered that altering environmental conditions is extremely effective at neutralizing the hostile lifeforms. The climate on the Potterfield has likely been adapted to suit the biological needs of the plants. If possible, I’d recommend finding a way to reduce the atmospheric conditions on board the Potterfield to 0 degrees Celsius and 0 percent humidity. </>
(Lt. J.g. Garth, CSO)
Keval reactivated his communication with the XO and Challenger.
=^= Vras to Commander Harkness and Challenger. Lieutenant Garth has given me a suggestion. If I can regain controls of the ship’s environmental systems, I might be able to neutralize the plants. But it won’t be pleasant for anyone unprotected, and I can’t guarantee I can isolate Sickbay from the rest of the changes if I’m making them ship wide. What are your orders? =^=
As Keval waited for a response, he began to realize he was alone, in a bay full of potentially dangerous entities, that had so far managed to abduct two of his fellow crew members without Keval knowing how. Turning around to try to cover his surroundings, Keval’s instincts from his adolescence kicked in. While he may not have been the most accomplished Andorian fighter, he was still an Andorian, and had fought his fair share of duels before joining Starfleet. Mentally preparing himself, he started programming his tricorder to alert him for any sudden movement in the area as he pulled out his phaser from his suit’s holster…
Lieutenant Vras, CE
The tricorder’s alarm was near constant as the mass of vegetation around him continued to writhe. No sudden aggressive actions, however, just vines and flowers hanging out and drifting through time and space just living.
As for the task at hand, Vras deduced that he would have to restart some systems and then fire them up in the normal Star Fleet Engineering Corps recommended order if he wanted to avoid the risk of blowing out some conduits from the feedback generated by the emergency power in the sickbay, probably taking some of the emergency systems off line for a time.

Keval took another look around the engineering bay, his antennae curling in suspicion and exasperation. With one hand on his phaser and one hand on his tricorder, working on the environmental controls would be… tricky.
Keval thumbed in an emergency alert protocol on his tricorder. He would need to regularly check in on his tricorder, otherwise it would broadcast an emergency alert that hopefully Challenger and rest of the away team would pick up.
Sighing to himself, Keval put down his tricorder, leaving it open, and turning his attention to the ship’s environmental controls. He wasn’t happy with the Sickbay situation, but he wasn’t quite ready to do a short-cut around the problem yet. There were just too many unknowns and dangers with the survivors holed up there - and putting them at more risk just didn’t make sense. Which didn’t sit well with Keval.
Keval began setting up a protocol to change the environmental settings without impacting Sickbay’s environment.
Lt. Keval Vras, CE
As he reviewed his environmental system protocol, Keval tapped the check-in icon on his tricorder, resetting the timer of his emergency beacon again. He slowly looked around the engineering bay one more time, before turning back to his terminal to make sure there were no errors in the protocol he set up. Keeping his tricorder open still, Keval made sure to compare his changes to the environmental systems with the ship specs he downloaded from Challenger, giving specific attention to Potterfield’s sickbay Sickbay.
Lt. Keval Vras, CE
For whatever reason the plant life stayed away from Keval as he did his work. Occasionally the tricorder would sense a vine slithering towards the consul the engineer was working at but, for whatever reason they never got too close to be a real threat.
The protocol, when executed, at least by the computer’s calculations, would retard the activity of the decks around sickbay and the cargo bay. It would be cold and dry but with proper environmental suits humanoid life forms wouldn’t be too impeded in their work.
