“Mm,” the voice considered before the vines shivered. “And what is stopping us from just turning you into soil now? That is what happened with the rest of the crew. They either joined us or were turned to food to feed us. You see survival is one thing, it is something else to make amends.”

Max shrugged. “Nothing is actually stopping you. But to be perfectly frank, if we were to disappear, they will probably send more people. And those people are more likely to shoot first, and clean up whatever mess is left later.

“I would really prefer that we could come to some sort of agreement without having to resort to further violence. Something where we can return you back to where you came from, and so we can rescue what is left of this ships crew. We can even make look at making the planet where they took you from off limits to future ships from our government. And to be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t mind surviving this myself either.”

=^= Harkness here Captain. It seems like the Potterfield’s crew abducted this entity from their home planet. Everything that has happened so far has been in retaliation for that, and as the entity has tried to survive. I’m hoping that we can come to some sort of agreement that both sides can be happy with. =^=
