“Grab a seat there.” The cadet indicated a set of empty chairs in front of a desk. “Can I get you something to drink or eat from the replicator? I’m pretty hungry myself, I was writing reports during my lunch break.”

Could she really put up with another chatterbox, sweet pie, TJCT wanted to bare her teeth and growl, but she didn’t even sigh. “No thank you.” She answered. “Why don’t you eat while we get this over with. To put it bluntly you’re the third on the list and to be brutally honest, I’d just like it to be over and done with. I’m not sure if all of your victims have been grateful for your review, but this one would rather walk a Borg cube then be here. Not that it’s personal, it’s just I’m not crash hot on your career path.” She’d been through this numerous times since she’d been rectified by the Borg and she just didn’t see the point going over it again. To be honest with Starfleet she’d handed them copies of the incident in question, though she’d left out Taipan and her time with the Hirogen, and every counselor, cadet or not had wanted to discuss the Borg incident. She’d also skimmed over Coolac her home planet and what went on their, doubting that Starfleet would find some of the things that went on their morally right. Victims was probably going to get her a bad review, but unfortunately for the cadet it was how she saw Counselors Raptors who took out their prey picking it to death. “So where would you like to start, my Borg rectification, my interaction with some of the species that Starfleet don’t like, my childhood, or something else?” She bit the bullet or in her case the arrow and waited for the response.

Tanner’s comments didn’t phase Smith, although she paused her traipse toward the replicator and instead made her way back to sink into the chair on the opposite side of the desk. “Sounds like you’ve done this a lot,” she commented. “Maybe you could just talk and we could skip the questions?” She laughed at her own humor and then continued without taking a breath. “How about you just tell me why you enrolled in Starfleet Academy?”

“Because it allowed me to experience something new. We don’t get many Starfleet vessels at my home planet, unless they need repairs. A lot of ships don’t even realise we’re there. Though there are an awful lot of Starfleet’s ways that I find wasteful, it’s an easy way to encounter races that you don’t get in the Delta Quad.”

OOC (Out of Character): I trimmed out some of the previous dialog from our post thread here to keep it from getting too long (you can see that I replaced it with the “<snip>“). A good rule of thumb is to have two or three posts back unless there is something that someone needs to respond to (this can happen in threads with multiple people involved). Mostly, it’s something you get a feel for as you post and participate more. :)

The cadet’s head tilted to the side in interest at Tanner’s words. “What do you find wasteful about Starfleet?” she asked, curiously.

“It’s want to be liked by all. It’s need to be useful to all. It’s inability to keep out of business which does not concern itself. It’s belief that it needs to be the one entity that needs to offer solutions to all. Its inability to allow other races to sort out their own problems. I will follow the orders I am given, but some of them I find against those of my own planet. Starfleet must realise that what it thinks other races need is not something they want, and it brings bad elements to Starfleet.”
