<snip>=^= Lieutenant Vras to Challenger. Commander Harkness has reported that Cadet Anderson has been taken, possibly to one of the cargo bays. He is in pursuit and Lieutenant Tavium is joining him. Are you able to confirm Cadet Anderson’s location and relay that information to the entire away team? =/^=
Keval then realized what may happen if he cut life support…
=^= And can you confirm the status of Cadet Anderson’s environmental suit? =^=
Lieutenant Vras, CE
=/\= Captain Davis here. We will get back to you with that information. =/\=
Davis, CO (crossposting extraordinaire)
Nijix cursed under her breath when she heard about Cadet Anderson. Her heart raced and eyes shot to the exit, her body already moving. She adjusted her phrase to the proper setting with a quick push of her button. When she rushed out the door, she pressed her badge communicator to inform him she was on her way.
=^= Lt. Tavium to XO. I’m on route to the cargo bay, give me directions to the right one.^= She struggled to keep the growl out of her voice.
-Lt. Nijix Tavium, CoS
As the ancient proverb said, one shouldn’t run into a mass of writhing vines while growling. Or something like that, translation from the past was never as accurate as it should be, but in this case the literal translation was close enough.
Once Tavium rounded a corner she was clotheslined by a vine about an inch and a half thick. This one, like the one that wrapped itself around Anderson, bound the COS around the neck, torso, and legs dragging her into the bowels of the ship.

Nijix didn’t expect a clothesline. She rushed forward and spotted the green snap out, creating a strong rope. She couldn’t stop herself as it caught her throat. Nijix fell onto her back. The impact knocked the wind from her lungs as the other vines began to wrap around her. Her left arm jerked upward to her neck when the vine began to wrap there. It pinned her arm across her torso and neck, allowing her to stop it from completely cutting off her oxygen. Her other arm had been pinned underneath during her attempt to hit her combadge. The fingertips rested a few millimeters from successfully activating it. Her suit’s back rubbed against the floor while she was dragged away.

=/\= Challenger to Vras and Maxwell. Cadet Anderson and Chief Tavium are both in Cargo Bay Three. Their health readings are fine other than elevated heart rates and their suits are functioning correctly. What is your plan? =/\=
Davis, CO (crosspost)
“Tavium?” Keval said, looking up from his screen in surprise. “I thought she was joining the Commander Harkness.”
Realizing that he was literally talking to nobody, Keval re-activated his communicator.
=^=Tavium? I thought she was joining Commander Harkness. =^=
</> Garth to Lieutenant Vras. Lieutenant Aizala has discovered that altering environmental conditions is extremely effective at neutralizing the hostile lifeforms. The climate on the Potterfield has likely been adapted to suit the biological needs of the plants. If possible, I’d recommend finding a way to reduce the atmospheric conditions on board the Potterfield to 0 degrees Celsius and 0 percent humidity. </>
(Lt. J.g. Garth, CSO)
Keval reactivated his communication with the XO and Challenger.
=^= Vras to Commander Harkness and Challenger. Lieutenant Garth has given me a suggestion. If I can regain controls of the ship’s environmental systems, I might be able to neutralize the plants. But it won’t be pleasant for anyone unprotected, and I can’t guarantee I can isolate Sickbay from the rest of the changes if I’m making them ship wide. What are your orders? =^=
As Keval waited for a response, he began to realize he was alone, in a bay full of potentially dangerous entities, that had so far managed to abduct two of his fellow crew members without Keval knowing how. Turning around to try to cover his surroundings, Keval’s instincts from his adolescence kicked in. While he may not have been the most accomplished Andorian fighter, he was still an Andorian, and had fought his fair share of duels before joining Starfleet. Mentally preparing himself, he started programming his tricorder to alert him for any sudden movement in the area as he pulled out his phaser from his suit’s holster…
