Lillian Nodded her understanding to Lt. Tavium.
Lillian hated Jungles there where no good sight lines there was alway a tree or some such thing in the way.
“Sir i have point” Lillian set off in front of the XO toward the exit of engineering.
Lillian was ready to deal with anything.

Cadet Lillian Anderson Security

“Lead the way Cadet. Let’s find our survivors and get out of here as quickly as possible.”

Checking his rifle one last time he feel in behind Anderson, as she led the way out.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

As Harkness and Anderson made their way through the corridors the lights quickly dimmed to near darkness, the lights on their suits the only thing that illuminated their path way. Occasionally it could be seen the emergency lights were still on but covered with leaves and other filters that blocked out the light.

As they rounded the corner in one pathway, several of the thorns that had struck poor Richards just hours before, sailed through the air towards Harkness but when they collided with the suit, they clattered to the floor harmlessly, the barbs unable to penetrate the protective coating.

Max saw the thorns come towards him, but by the time he did, he knew there was no way he could dodge them, it was to late. As they hit his suit, he let out a sigh of relief as they bounced off. While they were well on their way to finding a cure, he didn’t want to find out just how well it worked quite yet.

“Keep your eyes open Cadet. The suits are protecting us from the thorns so far, but who knows if it will adapt. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sees us as a larger threat this time, and ups the response.”

=^= Harkness to Vras. So far our suits are protecting us from the thorns, similar to what got Cadet Richards. But be prepared if whatever has taken over the Potterfield steps up their response. =^=

=^= Understood, Commander. I’ve been reviewing the logs. It seems the last survivors from the parasites and poison held out in Sickbay. The source of the growth seems to be the Cargo Bay - but the contents are classified. There’s also mention of a female taking Deck Four, but she is talked about as a threat. Whether this female is still on Deck Four or not, I think we should be cautious no matter what. =^=

“How much further Cadet?”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Just then Vras’s voice came over the suit’s communicator again.

=^= Oh, and Commander… Deck Four is where the ship’s weapons were kept. =^=

Lt. Keval Vras, CE

Max cursed. =^= Of course they are. Any chance of opening a comm channel to sickbay? =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

=^= Sickbay is heavily shielded, Commander. I can try to see what I can do to restore communication there, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I need get more physical access the the area surrounding Sickbay. I also have a few other suggestions. I’m going to see if there’s any power to divert to internal sensors, which might give us an idea of what else is with us on board the ship. We could also find out what was actually being transported in the cargo containers - but given the level of classification, we may need to access the cargo containers themselves. It would be a lot easier if someone from Starfleet just told us - it’s classified to flag officers only. =^=

“Flag Officers” Lillian Cursed under her breath

There was a pause before Vras continued.

=^= The parasites seem to be feeding off of the ship’s power. I could look into shutting down the all the reactors and emergency generators. But that would mean killing everything else on board. I would want to ensure a dedicated generator for Sickbay’s life support, though, so I would need some time to set that up, Commander. =^=

Lt. Keval Vras, CE

Max cursed, of course they would classify items to flag officers.

=^= Keep checking the database to see what you can get. And see what you can do to cut through the shielding around sickbay. We are almost there. Hopefully we will be able to get the remaining crew back to the Challenger, and we can kill all the power on the Potterfield. =^=

“How much farther Cadet?”

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Lillian was only half listening to the conversation that the XO was having taking note of the key parts.
“Sir, We are coming up on the Target” Lillian took up a position next to a large door that was sounded by Ive and the some barbs that looked like the ones that took out Richards .
“Sir approach with care looks like more of this things” Lillian indicated with the point of her phaser rifle.
Lillian approached the door and began tapping on the door.

Translation of Morse code
(Help is here. advise of situation. )

After a few minutes there was a slight tapping on the door back. It translated to a rather brisk request for the name, rank, and command authorization of whoever was on the other side of the door. The crew in sickbay was clearly paranoid.

Alerted to the presence of Anderson and Harkness, a vine slithered out from around one of the corners and wrapped itself around Anderson’s ankle. With a mighty tug the cadet was pulled down to the ground and quickly pulled into the darkness as a high, feminine cackle filled the air. “You were warned about hurting my babies,” the voice shrieked. “And now your cadet will serve me!”

Anderson for her part was quickly pulled through the hallways, into a jefferies tube and down into the cargo bay where it all started before her eyes and mouth were covered.

“No!” Max cried as he tried shooting at the vine pulling Anderson.

At the sickbay a light rapping returned on the door, “Secondary Access Point. Go. Now.”

Lillian was Sliding across the floor all the sore was the jungle like surroundings she arrived in a larger open space she was not sure it could have been a cargo bay or what was once a cargo bay.
Then her eyes where covered. it was at this moment that she fired her weapon unable to aim she fired wild hopping to hit some thing to brake her free.
As she she panicked the Breath became less and less in her lungs continue to fire into the in to the sounding hoping that she would get free enough to breath.
she really wished she had brought a knife with her.

Lillian Anderson Cadet security

“I’ll be back. Hold out as long as possible,” he called out. Hopefully they would hear him, because he didn’t have time to wait for a response. He took off at a run, heading for the access point they mentioned. As he reached it, he started crawling through it.

=^= Harkness to Vras. Cadet Andreson was taken, I’m in pursuit. I’m going to need back-up on this. Whatever has taken over the ship has taken her. I’m sure they are headed for the cargo bay. Start cutting off their power. And have Lt. Tavium meet me in the cargo bay ASAP. =^=

=^= Lt. Tavium to XO. I’m on route to the cargo bay, give me directions to the right one.^= Nijix voice seemed to struggle to keep a level tone.

He just hoped that by the time he got there, it wasn’t to late.

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

As Harkness ran through the halls after Anderson, he was assaulted by the spines and vines as they attempted to catch him as well but he was just fast enough, or they weren’t as interested in him as they were the cadet. Eventually he rounded a corner and came face to face with a solid wall of vines and flowers, a writing mass blocking his way forward.

Max skidded to a hault in front of the vines. He had managed to avoid the vines so far, but with the way it was moving, shooting his way through didn’t look like a great option.

“Why are you here?” a feminine voice asked the commander from no discernible direction. “Why wont you all just leave me and my babies alone. Why did you come here?”

GM Wombat

Because it wasn’t creepy enough having vines come out and try and grab him, now it was talking to him as well. Pushing his instincts to react first, and ask questions later, down, he slung his phaser rifle back around onto his back.

“We are from the Starship Challenger. And I just want to talk.

“We came originally because we got a distress signal from this ship, they sent us here to find out what happened to the Potterfield. But when we came the first time, something attacked one of my team. He didn’t survive.” Max paused for a second letting it sink in.

“We didn’t know what we were dealing with. Maybe you can help us? I don’t want anymore people to die.”
