=^= Sickbay is heavily shielded, Commander. I can try to see what I can do to restore communication there, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I need get more physical access the the area surrounding Sickbay. I also have a few other suggestions. I’m going to see if there’s any power to divert to internal sensors, which might give us an idea of what else is with us on board the ship. We could also find out what was actually being transported in the cargo containers - but given the level of classification, we may need to access the cargo containers themselves. It would be a lot easier if someone from Starfleet just told us - it’s classified to flag officers only. =^=

Vras thought a moment longer before continuing.

=^= The parasites seem to be feeding off of the ship’s power. I could look into shutting down the all the reactors and emergency generators. But that would mean killing everything else on board. I would want to ensure a dedicated generator for Sickbay’s life support, though, so I would need some time to set that up, Commander. =^=

Vras looked over at Tavium to see if she had anything else to add.

=^= Keep checking the database to see what you can get. And see what you can do to cut through the shielding around sickbay. We are almost there. Hopefully we will be able to get the remaining crew back to the Challenger, and we can kill all the power on the Potterfield. =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Nijix continued to monitor their surroundings. Her weapon was ready and armed while her eyes scanned the scenery. Her ears tracked the conversation between the XO and Vras, ensuring she wasn’t left out. When she caught the look, her lips frowned and a thought crossed her mind.

“I doubt anything I have thought of is going to be much use here. I am curious about what happens when you cut power and if they will become hostile? ” She thought out loud. She didn’t want to deal with rather upset plants.

“Probably the same thing that would happen to any of the crew members in Sickbay if I didn’t get it quite right… no life support and an unfortunate end,” Keval said as he started trying to access more of the ship’s power systems.

“Now, I could potentially divert some power from shielding to internal sensors,” Keval said, partly to himself. “But that would leave Sickbay somewhat defence-less. They must have shielded themselves for a reason.”

Keval started reviewed the ship’s current power attribution, to see where he power could be diverted from.

“It would be easier if we could lead the plants to one side of the ship and clear the way for those locked in the sickbay,” Nijix commented offhandedly, but she wasn’t sure how to do it. All the options seemed to put the objective at risk. An idle thought crossed her mind if she should contact the XO and her cadet, mainly to see if they were all right. She shook the thought away. She didn’t need to hover. Anderson and the XO were both capable individuals.

=^= Harkness to Vras. Cadet Andreson was taken, I’m in pursuit. I’m going to need back-up on this. Whatever has taken over the ship has taken her. I’m sure they are headed for the cargo bay. Start cutting off their power. And have Lt. Tavium meet me in the cargo bay ASAP. =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

Keval immediately began increasing his efforts to regain control of the ship’s power systems, focusing on the cargo bay sections of the ship. He trusted that Tavium would follow up with the Harkness to confirm she was on route.

“Fifteen cargo bays spread across nine decks…” Keval said aloud to himself, as he tapped his communicator.

=^= Lieutenant Vras to Challenger. Commander Harkness has reported that Cadet Anderson has been taken, possibly to one of the cargo bays. He is in pursuit and Lieutenant Tavium is joining him. Are you able to confirm Cadet Anderson’s location and relay that information to the entire away team? =/^=

Keval then realized what may happen if he cut life support…

Nijix cursed under her breath when she heard about Cadet Anderson. Her heart raced and eyes shot to the exit, her body already moving. She adjusted her phrase to the proper setting with a quick push of her button. When she rushed out the door, she pressed her badge communicator to inform him she was on her way.
