The crew lounge Nine Forward wasn’t extremely busy, but it certainly wasn’t empty either. One of the crew members, who was currently present, was Tija Aizala. The Bajoran doctor was sitting at a table in the corner, right next to one of the large windows. She was still in her uniform, but unlike when she was on duty her coppery hair fell in soft waves down her back when it was usually tied back to keep it out of the way. She was holding a PaDD in her hands, but didn’t seem to read it, and the cup of tea next to her hand was long forgotten as well. Instead she was staring out the window, though if she was actually seeing anything was another question.

Emmy had to encourage herself to put one foot in front of the other as she made her way to the lounge. Her true wish was to return to her quarters and enjoy a silent, replicator-produced meal there, but she knew that, as commanding officer of the ship, it was important for her to be aware of the social dynamics and other factors of her crew. So, with that mission in mind, she was dragging herself to Nine Forward for just one beverage… just one, she reemphasized to herself, she could do just one.

As the doors parted to the area, she studied the various crew members engaged in their forms of relaxation. Her visual sweep soon rested on the CMO, who seemed to be blatantly ignoring the PaDD in her hands in favor of staring out the window. Emmy’s blonde head tilted to the side as she processed this information and she slowly made her way toward Tija. “Excuse me, Doctor, what are you looking at?” she queried.
