USS Challenger
Main Simm - USS Potterfield - Engineering

Meanwhile back in Engineering…
Vras was more than capable as an engineer and soon found the power conduits, right where the schematics published by Arbuckle said they would be.
The records on the console were a little more, interesting, or distressing. It seemed that the trouble began two weeks ago when the Potterfield made an unexpected stop to pick up the science supplies currently being housed in the lower most cargo space. They seemed to have been mostly innocuous but the exact contents had been redacted and classified flag officer only.
System logs showed that once the cargo was aboard it seemed to be fine until it wasn’t, growing out of control and taking over the cargo hold. Eventually it made its way into the jefferies tubes and slowly infested the whole of the ship. Engineering was the first to fall, once the vegetation got into the main power systems it quickly took over the rest of the ship.
Logs showed that the crew succumbed to the poison and parasites that got Richards. Sickbay was the last hold out for the remaining crew but there were several mentions of a female in the records. Sentences such as, “She has taken deck four” and “Her malice grows with each passing hour. The emergency beacon has been activated but I don’t hold out hope that aid will come before we too are turned into her minions.” You know, cheery stuff.

=^= Harkness to Vras. So far our suits are protecting us from the thorns, similar to what got Cadet Richards. But be prepared if whatever has taken over the Potterfield steps up their response. =^=
Cmdr. Harkness - XO
Vras had started to review the logs when the XO’s message came through.
=^= Understood, Commander. I’ve been reviewing the logs. It seems the last survivors from the parasites and poison held out in Sickbay. The source of the growth seems to be the Cargo Bay - but the contents are classified. There’s also mention of a female taking Deck Four, but she is talked about as a threat. Whether this female is still on Deck Four or not, I think we should be cautious no matter what. =^=
Vras thought about his review of the ship’s specs. His antennae curved in reaction as his activated his suit’s communicator again. =^= Oh, and Commander… Deck Four is where the ship’s weapons were kept. =^=
Vras turned to Tavium. “I gather you heard all of that?”
