As the team materialized, Max quickly looked around, scanning the area for any hostiles.“Everyone call out.”

Nijix did one last check over her suit then stepped onto the platform. She took her place closest to Lt. Vras and Cadet Paul, ensuring that when they arrived she would be right beside them. The Cos inhaled as her body began to tingle and dematerialized. Once it ended, she heard the XO ask for a roll call.
“Lt. Tavium, here.” An automatic response to show her brain hasn’t been affected by anything.

Lillian felt the ground under her feet thro the suit and heard the XO call for check in. The CoS was first and then as she took up a defensive position.
“Cadet Anderson, Here” Lillian looked around in the glom of the dark Engineering space.

After a few moments, the away team materialized in the the engineering room of the Potterfield. Around them seemed like a lush jungle with all manner of flora covering the consoles, the walls and the core itself. The blue glow of the towering structure the only real consistent light source.
Around them was silence and the ambient sounds of a ship put into low power mode.

“Vras here, Commander,” Keval said in reply to Harkness’s request, as he looked through his visor the green Engineering in dismay. “
“I have a crazy theory this may be related to the power problem…” Keval added.
“Spread out, make sure that this place is secure,” Max said as he used the light on his rifle to look around, after everyone had called out.
=^= Harkness to Challenger. We are all here and accounted for. We have a bit of a jungle going on here though. Hopefully Lt Vras can work some of his magic here. =^=
=/\= A jungle? Specify. =/\=
=^= Yes Captain. Quite the variety of vines and flowers. Probably a pretty hot and humid atmosphere as well. =^=
=/\= Keep me informed. =/\=
Engineering was more or less easy enough to secure. The verdant matting cushioning the boots and, even though some of the flowers started to move their blossoms towards the away team, whatever darts or mists that came from them were dealt with by the biohazard suits.
The system readings showed that the power wasn’t so much shut down, as diverted. The place was more akin to a sauna with lots of moisture and heat in the air. Engineering, for lack of a better term, had become a green house.

“Commander, Cadet Paul and I will try to see what we can make of the power situation.” He looked around again. “Provided we can get through all of this vegetation.”
Vras looked over Paul. “Cadet, try to see if you can access any logs from engineering. Someone must have said something about their work area being taken over by plants. Might give us a clue as to what happened here and how we restore power. “
Meanwhile, Vras pulled out his tricorder to see if he could get a sense of how power was currently being distributed in Engineering…

“I think I agree,” Nijix commented at Lt. Vras’s statement, her eyes scanned the jungle-like room. Her figure held her weapon at hand and she moved carefully through the immediate area. She didn’t want to trail too far away from Engineering. Her figure bent down to detangle her boots carefully from any vines she stood on then moved slowly to scan the room.

“Well if you guys have this under control, Cadet Anderson and I will head for the lifesigns. Are you going to be okay here Lieutenants?”

“I can’t say for the others, but I feel we can. Now that I know what to expect and we’re protected by the suits, it should be easier. At least, until the next surprise comes along. I’ll keep you updated on any new developments.” Nijix stated, her eyes still scanned and monitored the surroundings.
“Yes, yes, Commander,” Keval said in agreement with Tavium, trying to study the tricorder results while also checking his environmental suit readings. “I’ll let you know once I find out what is going on with the ship’s power.”
Keval began using his tricorder to trace a power conduit that should be behind the bulkhead that was covered in the vegetation.

She then added to her cadet, “Anderson, keep the XO safe and come back in one piece.”
