The cantankerous transporter chief waited at his post, reading a PaDD that likely had the latest report about something, or a novel. Whatever he could get away with which, considering his status was just about anything at this point.

He had received notice from the deck that the away team was in bound, most of the same characters as last time. “Try try again,” he had thought to himself as he was setting in the coordinates with a heavy sigh. “Seems like they are going to try and take engineering this time.”

Cadet Grayson Paul walked in, slowly, through the transporter room doors. He was decked out in the heavy looking environmental suit, helmet snapped on and everything locked tight, except for his visor, which was lifted up. He was already sweating as he stopped and looked around the transporter room and took in the cranky man behind the console, “I hope this is the right transporter room. And you’d think, after four hundred years of spaceflight, that we’d have a decent space suit to wear.”

Nijix arrived shortly afterward. She grabbed an environment suit, hopping into it and secured the seams. The visor was left up so her words could be heard easily. She caught the last bit causing her to chuckle and smile, an attempt to ease the tense atmosphere.

“Yep, it is the right one. Do you want me to check your suit over to ensure it’s airtight? Then you can do the same for me. One small hole or tear could result in being infected.” She didn’t mention she had security on standby to seal off the transporter room. Just in case someone transported them here instead of the sickbay. So far, no one else had been infected but a second mistake like that was pushing the risk.
