Turning to the bridge, Emmy ordered, “update our scans of the Potterfield. Alert Commander Harkness and myself if there have been any changes in the ship’s status since the previous away team returned to the Challenger.”

=^= Harkness to Davis. I’m a bit ahead of schedule, but we’ve got our team. Lt Vras is meeting us in the transporter room with Cadet Paul. And I’m taking Lt Tavium and Cadet Anderson. Anderson is going to double as our medic, as Cadet Scott is sticking back with Lt Garth to work on the antidote. =^=

There were few words in the universe that thrilled Emmy as much as the three that Harkness spoke: “ahead of schedule.” A satisfied smirk came over her features as she visualized the crew manifest and placed each of the indicated crew members in their designated location.

The bridge science officer worked with the tactical officer to complete the scans in, not quite ahead of schedule, but as fast as possible. Once they were satisfied that the results weren’t going to get them thrown into the brig, NE Bancroft approached the CO. “We have the results ma’am. It seems nothing has changed in the last 5 hours. Still low power, high humidity, high heat, minimal and yet abundant life forms.”

The security officer, NE Kostic cleared his throat at Bancroft and jerked his head in a subtle reminder about something. Bancroft sighed before she continued to the CO, “Kostic and I also did a quick analysis and the remaining crew in the Potterfield have approximately a day’s worth of supplies remaining. Maybe more if they really rationed themselves.”

Emmy’s noise of displeasure at the exchange between Kostic and Bancroft quickly faded as Kostic provided the report, only underlying the urgency of the situation. She gave a self-satisfied snort and hit her comm badge again.
