A petite blonde form made her way into the Discovery-class ship’s Sickbay. Her brown eyes studied the tidy environment with a satisfied grin. She always found medical facilities to bring a certain comfort in the order that they imparted. Striding to the nearest cadet, she instructed, “take me to Lieutenant Torrirs.” Only the slight politeness in her tone kept it from being a sheer demand.

Davis, CO

“Hmm?” Shaken from his concentration, Cadet Grant snapped his attention to Davis. “Of course!” He shoved his PaDD into the crook of his arm, gesturing the Captain to follow. He couldn’t say he was certain of Torrirs’ whereabouts, but if history were a testament to the present, he had a fair idea.

Do I say something? He questioned himself in debate of prodding the silence. What would I say? Grant rubbed his thumb along the pads of his fingers, quietly releasing as much tension as he could. Tilting his head to cast a glance over his shoulder, he managed a smile. “How-.”

“Doctor Grant,” his words were snatched by the hand hovering before him and he stood in bitter realization he’d nearly run into another doctor. Heat rose to his cheeks as he hesitantly turned to face the near victim of his distraction.

“Are you all right?” At the sound of Torrirs’ voice, Grant felt his heart drop. Dry of words, he mustered a tiny nod. “Fine,” but his voice didn’t reach the volume he’d hoped. Nervously adjusting his PaDD, the Cadet cleared his throat. “Uhm, there is someone here to see you.” He stepped aside, careful not to stumble over his own two feet. “I..” confidence, Benedict, confidence. “I have some work to finish. It was a pleasure meeting you.” He threw a nod of acknowledgment to Davis, before retreating back to his duties. That went smoothly.

Obiah carefully watched his retreating figure. “He isn’t usually that skittish,” they mused, chewing on their lip in thought. “Anyway,” they extended a hand to Davis, “I’m Doctor Torrirs, what can I do for you?”
