Idle Time (open invite)

SNIPOlly turned to walk alongside the other cadet. Meditation was not a practice that he had ever taken up but he knew that it was important for many species and several cultures back on Earth. He supposed that disagreements between roommates on schedules would probably increase the stress level enough to probably negate the usefulness of the meditation anyway.
“I’m off duty currently, I wasn’t sure what to do around here so I’ve sort of just been wandering the halls reading medical journals. Not the most exciting pass time, I suppose. On another topic, aren’t those going to cause some sort of an issue being lit up in a Jeffries Tube?” The cadet gestured to the candles being held by Grayson.
Cadet Oliver Scott, Medical
“Maybe,” Grayson stopped as he found a particular hatch, then, looking around conspiratorially, leaned down close to Dr. Scott, “But if you promise to be discrete, I’ll show you some loopholes that can be… taken advantage of.”
Grayson stepped back, popping the hatch open and stepping a foot inside, “Otherwise, you never saw me…” Grayson waved his candle-filled hands up and down as though he were just an illusion before Scott’s eyes, then, chuckling, turned and folded his long frame inside the opening.
Cadet Paul, EngineerOlly watched as Grayson ducked into the open hatch with his contraband candles. He pondered for a second whether this was going to be a bad decision or not. He wasn’t entirely sure how much forgiveness was to be had for a cadet on their first week of their cadet cruise and also hadn’t yet met the captain or first officer so he didn’t have a way to gauge their personalities. On the other hand, what better pair of skills to test the limits with than an engineer and a medical officer?
With a sigh Olly ducked down and entered the hatch after his fellow cadet, then turned around and closed it behind them.
“Here’s hoping we don’t regret this,” he said as he turned back to face Grayson. “I’m ready for these loopholes. As for discretion… I’m a doctor, the only people more discrete than me are lawyers and priests.”

Grayson regarded Oliver for a long moment, “What’s the worst that could happen?”
He turned and started crawling along the Jefferies tube on three limbs, the fourth was his big hand clutching both candles to his chest. He crawled along for a good moment, then as he entered a junction between decks, he dropped down over the lip, moved over to a corner and sat down. The lights were already dim; aside from the general hum the engines provided throughout the ship, it was very quiet. Grayson looked around as he set the two candles down, frowning. Something seemed…off. It wasn’t the company, he’d led group meditation exercises back at the Academy. Even one on one sessions with other men, though he certainly preferred the alone time with the fairer sex. He smiled faintly to himself, remembering with fondness that one time with a certain Andorian girl…
Suddenly a thought struck him, and then he struck his forehead with his palm. “Dammit…where is it?” Grayson began patting himself down, pawing at his pockets, “Surely I didn’t leave it…”

Olly crawled into the junction after Grayson and settled into one of the other corners. He wasn’t entirely sure still what to expect with this adventure but didn’t really have anything else to do. He looked expectantly at the other cadet, growing slightly more concerned at Grayson’s reaction.
“Did you drop something?” he asked tentatively.
Hopefully, that answer would be no. It had been quite the crawl along the Jeffries tube and he did not relish the thought of having to backtrack the whole way to find something. Then again, as he had just realized, he really didn’t have much else to do at the moment. Why not get some exercise crawling all over the ship and back. Of course, he also had to acknowledge that he didn’t really know where they were.
The young doctor glanced back toward the other man and waited patiently.
