USS Challenger
CNS Office - Cadet Scott Psych Eval
Cadet Scott made his way to the counselor’s office. There was certainly a lot of boxes to check before officially being cleared for duty. He couldn’t wait until he had finally made it through all those tasks and could get on with the business of proving himself as a cadet. Reflecting on those thoughts, he supposed that checking boxes and paying attention to details were probably a big part of being a Starfleet officer so it would follow that this would be part of a cadet cruise as well. Someone would probably eventually notice if he never checked in with his department head or the counselor and just went back and forth between his quarters and the mess hall every day. Probably best not to test that theory as starting off one’s career with some sort of black mark or demerit didn’t seem like a good idea.
The cadet wondered what sort of questions the counselor would ask. Certainly this wasn’t the first time he had been aboard a ship or in space, there was plenty of training during the earlier academy years to weed out people who were afraid of that sort of thing. Perhaps the counselor would be checking to make sure the stress of the first real mission wasn’t clouding his judgement? Then again, perhaps it was just the counselor’s job to get to know people so if something did go wrong in the future, there was a baseline for comparison. Whatever the reason, it was required and so he was going to get it out of the way.
The cadet arrived at the counselor’s office, thumbed the door chime and waited.
