Grayson smirked as he considered her words. She was terrible small, and he found the thought of her studying his “anatomy” amusing. Not wishing to be rude, he winked and turned back to the court.“We’re not in school anymore, Cadet,” Grayson shot the ball from distance and was rewarded with a satisfying swish. “No more studying, time for some practical application! Come on, I’ll show you!”
Cadet Paul, Engineer.Catt laughed. It wasn’t loud but then nothing she said or did was ever loud. She followed him onto the court streaching as she went. Showing off a bit actually as she did a couple of leg lifts to show off her flexability. Ballet might give her a surprise factor as with her dancers legs light frame and feline springiness she could standing still make a 6 foot vertical jump. Her martial arts style was mostly about dodging till there was a opening. So she was mostly worried about ball handling. Which she had no experiance with. As for scoring, she would try. “So.”, she said collecting the ball. “You think leaving the academy means you get to stop studying?”. And she practiced dribbling as she walked to center court keeping a wide berth between them. “I’ m just a farmer of course. But space is a harsh mistress. She has claws. She has teeth. And she’s always hungry.”, and her dribbling improved as she playfully changed hands and took up a ready to go crouch. “No contact right?”,

Grayson grinned as he spread his feet and lowered his center of gravity. He had a large wingspan when his arms were spread wide, which they were now.
“I’ll try not to rough you up, you’ve had enough trips to Sick Bay recently.” He laughed, “We always have something to learn, but most of it is learned through experience. All the study of the seed won’t make it grow, you have to plant it. Practical Application, like I said. Your ball, Catt.”
Cadet Paul, EngineerSo.. Catt thought at the answer, not exactly a no. Which meant just don’t break anything she supposed. So she threw her hip into a I am going left movement then broke right. As faking out the opponant seemed to be important in this game. Her 0 to 60 acceleration was better than human so even with the fakeout she ought to slip past just out of fingertip reach. She was still a fair distance from the basket when she pivited to make a direct line to the basket and prepared to launch hersel for a slam dunk.

OOC: Forgive my liberties with your character in this post, I tried not doing anything significant, but if you’d like I’ll remove those parts.
Grayson grinned at the expected feint, misdirection seemed to be the modus operandi at the beginning of most pickup games, and so as she moved to his left, he dropped straight back, cutting off her path just as she launched herself. Inevitably, a collision occurred, Catt’s Caitian physiology allowing her to rise to a significant level and caused her knees to strike Grayson’s face. They both tumbled to the floor.
Grayson, with his years worth of athletics training, scrambled immediately back to his feet, laughing loudly even as a thin trail of blood began streaming from his nostril, around the curve of his mouth and down his chin. “Are you ok?” He walked over to his fellow Cadet, offering her a hand, “I wasn’t expecting you to go straight for the basket, but I’m glad I kept you out!”
Cadet Paul, EngineerCatt realised her error just as she launched herself she couldn’t quite avoid hitting Grayson and felt her knee collide. She twisted to avoid imparting to much energy into the strike which left her with unplaned for both lateral and rotational momentum as well as forward. Her body did some impossible looking gyrations as instinct kicked in. She ejected the ball upwards to reduce the variable involved. The math didn’t work. “Oh Frak!”, she let loose as she adjusted her tail. Everything felt like slow motion but the ground was still coming up fast. She was going to feel this for a week she thought and overextended her twist it hurt her spine cracked like someone cracking their knuckles but suddenly the math worked. Not for a two point landing but for all four. She let the hands and feet absorb part of the impact then used her martial arts roll to bleed of the rest. It was not dignified. It was definately not pretty but it would of worked. She had lost track of the pole that held the basket up. The pole remebered where it was and reminded her when she hit it. “Oooffff!”, and she stopped cold on her back looking up at the basket. Just in time to hear swish see a orange blurr and get the basketball in the face. Beginners luck.
She heard Greyson say are you ok, and didn’t hear the rest as she tried to figure out if she was actually ok.Ooc: NP. Chose to go anime comedic on this one. Maybe a bit too much feline flexabilitý. Hope you don’t mind. And thats one of 9 lives gone lol. Playing basketball with a catgirl is kind of anime heh.

Grayson stood with his hands on his hips, staring incredulously at the basket, then back down at the cadet laying sprawled out below it, and then let out a loud belly laugh. “Wow! Bet you couldn’t do that again if you wanted to!” He walked up to her and offered his hand again, “You should’ve told me you’d played basketball before. They’ve got a term back on Earth for this, it’s called ‘pool shark.’”
“In any case,” he said as he helped haul her back up to her feet, “I think that’s enough of this…for now. I have duty in an hour, and…” he sniffed his right armpit, then jerked his head back in feigned disgust, “I really need to shower. Computer, end program.”
