Meredith took a moment to make sure her uniform was as crease free as possible after the transit flight. Her unruly mop of fiery red hair she could do little about, but she’d attempted to tame it by pulling the curls into a loose pony tail and hoping for the best.

She pushed the door chime, and with one last forlorn tug at her hair, waited to enter.

The turbo lift on the Bridge opened and a man exited, wearing the Red tunic of Command. Turning left, he headed towards her carrying what looked like a brown paper bag. Seeing her, which wasn’t hard considering the short distance, he smiled. He was older, in his 50’s perhaps but clearly still fit and full of energy while is hair had begun to get more than a few streaks of aging.

“Good morning, Lieutenant.” He offered as he reached her. Clearly on his collar were the four pips of a Captain. “Have I kept you waiting long?”
