Obiah. A personal n with the world on their shoulders, yet not a worry within it. They had her own set of flaws and their own set of strengths, small things that made them the humanoid creature that she happened to be. Trailing along the halls of the Academy ship, their hands were clasped behind her back, as series of anxious thoughts progressed through their mind. Would they be judged, by the Captain, based off of who their mother was? Put under a different light because of the felonies caused by a woman they hardly even knew? No.. they wouldn’t let that happen, couldn’t let that happen.

Get out of your own head, Obiah! They hissed within their mind trying to avoid the anxiety that crept up from the base of their spine to their shoulder blades, where they shivered as if someone had stepped upon their grave. They were not here to have the worries of their mother upon their mind, no, they were here to make a life for themself and make damn certain that they didn’t go down the path their mother had. Shaking their head, they took a deep breath and pushed away the thoughts of their maternal figure, looming over their mind like a dark shadow.

Stepping in front of the office of the CO, they straightened their stance, brushing off their shoulders before leaning over to press the chime, notifying their new boss of their presence outside of his office.

Lt. Torrirs
CMO

The Captain had felt Torrirs’s presence before the chime rang. Her emotions were too strong not too miss. Captain Weir had read over the Lieutenant’s records before she had boarded and found the new Chief Medical Officer very unique. The Trill had a non binary stance, which was rare for a Trill....but not unheard of; this wouldn’t be an issue.

“Come in!” The Captain called out once the chime rang.

Once they heard the call of the man from within, they stepped into the room, inclining their head to the Captain. Having been raised by predominantly human families, their (while still accepting she/her/hers as pronouns) non-binary stance had a higher probability of occurring, specifically due to their upbringing outside of the Trill culture. It helped, also, that they had yet to accept a Symbiont.

“Hello, Captain.” When they spoke, their voice was feminine, without a doubt. However, it had a certain levelness that seemed a bit odd. “I am Lieutenant Obiah Torrirs, your new Doctor.”

Lt. Torrirs
CMO

“Welcome to the Challenger, Doctor Torrirs.” The Captain said, extending his hand to greet his new CMO. Samuel motioned for the new arrival to take a seat at the empty chair in front of his desk.

“How have you settled in?” Captain Weir asked while he poured the two some water.
