Rox laughed, “Oh I wouldn’t say that. He is very opinionated and not afraid to share those opinions.”

J.C. laughed hard, then tried to still himself to not mess with the scans… But couldn’t quite stifle a giggling grin.

“Maybe I can have him talk to my diagnostic sessions, then? There’s times I can’t quite tell the computer what I think of its suggestions…” He shook his head, chuckling.

“I’m sure all the same he’s the… How did they say it way back then? ‘The goodest of boys’?”

Ril looked over, his tail swishing on the floor, tongue lolling out with a grin. As if agreeing that he was a very good boy.

J.C. chuckled and shook his head, giving Ril a conspiratory smile. “I see you, pupper… You don’t have to convince me why the Doc brought you on.”

“I’m sure you could find something to talk about. If not, the counselor is very good at small talk,” she grinned and continued her scan.

“Now are we talking ‘professionally very good’, or…” J.C. stopped, smirking.

‘Insert foot into mouth’, he thought to himself. ‘Was bound to happen at some point.’

“Nevermind,” he continued aloud, looking sheepish. “Sorry, that’s rude of me, and likely borderline stepping over a professional line.” J.C. seemed to deflate ever so slightly as he spoke. “I’ve dealt with some counselors in my past. And they’ve been great people, at least in the controlled interaction space. But I’ve… Never felt like we’d gotten me to where we wanted me to be? I don’t know…” He shook his head again.

“I know this is going to be a general eval thing, make sure I’ll be a good fit and what not. I shouldn’t stress it so much.”

“I’m sorry that your experiences have not met your needs. Be sure to let the counselor know that. Be honest,” Dr Rox advised.

He nodded, sighing. “Right… Right. Will do.” J.C. offered a faint smile. “Honesty, best policy, all that.

Rox shook her head, “Not a problem. They are reminders and as long as they are not harming your health, I’m find with you keeping them. The internal damage is healed so I don’t see a problem with it.” She finished the entry and then continued her scans. (OOC: Are his scans clear or any problems you would like her to notice?)

“I appreciate that, Doc.” A legitimate smile graced J.C.’s lips again, though more subdued than before.

(OOC: I think we can show him clear other than what’s been brought up. No need to complicate him more, as of yet. LOL)

Cadet J.C. Swishman, Engineer

“Alright, well your medical scans are all clear, so I’m going to give my approval for you to begin your duties. Welcome aboard, and if you need anything just come back.” Rox flipped off the biobed and stepped back as she typed her final note into the PaDD she was holding. “You’re going to do great Cadet.”

“Thanks, Doc… I appreciate that.” J.C. hopped off the biobed, then gave her a slight grin. “I hope you don’t mind me saying I don’t want to be back here too often… But I definitely hope to see you around.” He looked down at Ril, grin a little bigger. “You be good, and take care of her and yourself.” He winked, then adjusted his uniform.

“Right… Off to the counselor. Thanks again, Doc. Take care.”
