<big snippies>=/\=Acknowledged Neddleberg. We’re ready.=/\= She looked at the nearest nurse, “Clear biobed one and prepare for incoming.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
Now that things had gotten in motion, Ilena tapped her combadge =/\= Rox to Cpt. Foley. Sir, I thought you should know, there is some kind of presence out there. It feels… female. It connected with me briefly. Now it’s just…it’s hard to explain. Like it’s watching, but not seeking. It was quite strong.=/\=
Nurse Dunn twisted around to Rox, “Doctor” she said and then her eyes glassed over like she was deep in thought. She looked at you confused, and then turned and walked away. Stopping at medical console, she began to look for something in the medical database.
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
While she spoke over the comm she watched Dunn. That was weird. She walked over to Dunn and set a hand on her shoulder while also listening with her Betazoid senses. “Sarah? Are you alright?” she asked as she reached over and turned the terminal off.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
“I’m find Rox, just looking for something ” she said without looking at her, she was looking over human anatomy records.
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
Rox gave her a narrowed look then stepped between her and the terminal so she couldn’t see it. “That can wait. I need you to prep biobed one. We have a severe casualty coming in and may need the surgical frame.” This wasn’t like her at all. She was always on point and focused.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
Dunn’s eyes looked around briefly she looked confused. “Sorry Sir, what.” she blinked again looking around “What did you just ask me to do?” he asked?
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
“I asked you to prepare Biobed 1 for an incoming casualty. Instead you came over here. What were you looking up on the computer?” Ilena didn’t normally do it, but she was listening to his thoughts and emotions very carefully.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
Her mind was rather confused,
Why am i standing here , why is she looking at me that way
I don’t remember her asking me to do that,
I better says something so I don’t get in trouble. No Fear or pain, just confusion
“Sorry Sir, I’ll get right on that” she noted and then turned to go do what she had been asked
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire“Hang on Dunn. Your showing some signs of concussion.” Ilena looked past Dunn, “Porvis, come check Dunn. Make sure she’s okay.” Ilena smiled reassuringly. “I just want to make sure you’re alright. Get checked out before getting back to work.” Porcis walked over with a tricorder. “Come on Dunn. How are you feeling? Any dizziness, concussion, or pain?:
Ilena left Porvis to it and went to prep the bed herself.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
As she prepped the bed more wounded came into halls just out side sickbay. Standing at nearby terminal a nurse was busy going through data.
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
Denali tapped his communicator.
=/\=Two to Sickbay, quickly!=/\=
As Denali arrived with the injured, he immediately jumped into action, scanning for the most vital areas of injury.
Cadet Neddleberg, Doctor
Rox knew her nurses were more than capable of handling triage. She stepped over to Neddleberg, “Status.”
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
“Yes, Lt. I’ve scanned the patient for potential dangerous injuries and stabilized them. But they are still unconscious. There are some lacerations and such on the patient so just doing some repair work on those while they are unconscious. Personally, I have never experienced an influx of so much chaos going on around me, so I am just trying to keep a level head. Most Important is the patient, so I am just trying to remain focused on that.”
Ilena nodded, “Good, you have her stabilized. She’s unconscious so what is the first thing you should check for?” Rox guided gently.
OOC: Figured here’s a good spot to off the previous NPC CE as Steve and I discussed so I can then refocus on my actual character else where
Just as all the chaos was raging around them the sickbay doors swooshed open again, this time admitting a young non-commissioned NE carrying the ship’s chief engineer with a stream of burns and blood coming through his uniform on his right side, “..Doctor! Nurse! Anyone! NLieutenant Balk took an exploding console to the right side just down the hall when red alert sounded. EPS pathway blew out and almost cascaded into a plasma fire, but.....” The out of breath non-com NE laid the heavily bleeding and burned NLieutenant down on an empty spot by the wall on the floor. While scared, scarred, and with a few scratches the NE seemed fine, just out of breath. “…we got the EPS line secured when then the wall console by us blew..” he said.
Random Non-com Engineer
“Dunn triage the NLieutenant. Levetski,” she called to the engineering cadet. “Go with the ‘Random Non-com Engineer’. They will get you sorted where you can best help.” They were over packed and the science lab down the corridor was as well. Unfortunately they couldn’t treat everyone first.”
Viveca had done a quick check of the bridge after Cadet Neddleberg took Lt. T’Sai before heading down to sickbay, “Doctor Rox, I’m available as an extra set of hands, I was a doctor before my psychiatry fellowship and my license is still valid, let me know where you need me most. Even if you want me handling the small cases so your staff can focus on the critcal ones.”
~Viveca Arlande
“Viveca,” Ilena said with relief. “Yes, please. Any help is needed. We’re overflowing. Could you handle the cases coming in from triage? I’m going to assist Neddleberg with Cmdr T’Sai.” Rox was relieved to see someone else there. Her cadets were amazing, but for most, this was the first time in a crisis. Another experienced officer was appreciated.
“You got it, if you need me to take on serious cases, just give me a shout,” Viveca replied, quickly grabbing a medical tricorder from storage she started weeding through the wounded.
Biobed scans showed that T’Sai had a sub fracture on her skull just behind the temp, there was bleeding that appeared to now be collecting under the skin. Her knee was dislocated and there was a small facture on the left Femur
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
LT Cmdr Dr Lanna T’SaiIlena looked at the scans. “Alright, there is swelling and bleeding in the brain. That is the immediate need. Begin treating that.”
Ilena was busy working through various triage procedures her mind focused, working hard to get the situation under control. She felt strange suddenly, like she was about to be sick. Here stomach was now doing hula hoops in her stomach.
Ilena set a hand on a table and one over her stomach. She didn’t feel well at all. Something was wrong. Had she caught something? Ril siddled up next to her and whinned, nosing her hand. “Arlander,” she called out. “I don’t… ugh… I don’t feel so well.” Normally she wouldn’t complain, but if she had something contagious, she needed to be checked before it spread.
Lt. Rox, Chief Medical Officer
Without warning there was a flash of light in sickbay and she was gone.
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
=^=Sickbay to bridge, Doctor Rox just disappeared in a flash of light after reporting feeling unwell, I’m continuing to treat wounded down here with the rest of her team,=^= Viveca tapped her badge, moving to where Lt. T’Sai lay on the bio bed, “Let’s keep working the wounded folks,” she ordered firmly, “If you are feeling overwhelmed, ask for help. We’ll get through this if we work together. For those who haven’t met me yet, I’m the ships counselor Viveca Arlander, but I used to be a Chief Medical Officer so trust me when I say that we’ve got this.”
~Viveca Arlander~
=^=Do what you can Commander. We’ll work on finding the Doctor.=^=
=^=Yes sir,=^= She replied.
OOC: should be CMDR T’Sai :) Sorry family gets a bit confusing..
IC:
NE Lovjoy spoke up to keep Viveca aware of the paitent .”Stats are dropping, Neural index is unstable, cranial pressure climbing, she’s decompensating fast. Subdermal bleed is spreading across the parietal zone.”Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
“Let’s get that bleed under control,” Viveca spoke, “Get me 10ccs of inaprovaline to start stabilizing her bleeding and 0.4ccs of trianoline for the brain swelling,” she set up a vascular regenerator and began looking at the scans to identify where the blood could be coming from.
~Viveca Arlander~
Capt Foley - CO
The bleed was not hard to find, it was under the skull where she had struck her head, it looked like a simple repair, but if it was not managed soon it could do heavy damage to the frontal cortex.
Mr Centauri GM extraordinaire
“There you are,” Viveca murmured, setting up her vascular regenerator to target the blood vessels in the area to mend, starting her work, “I found the bleed, proceeding to repair the damage with vascular regeneration,” she spoke her actions out loud mainly because it was good practice for everyone to hear what she was doing and the fact there were new cadets in the vicinity who likely would appreciate the commentary on managing injury, “Once the bleeding is managed, I’ll check for any additional damage to the brain and then begin work on the Lt.’s legs. Does anyone want to give the leg injury a go when I’m done with her head injury?”
~Viveca Arlander~
“I believe I can give it a go there,” Denali spoke up.
Cadet Denali Neddleberg, Doctor
USS Challenger“Great, I’ll be here to help you, if you want to get started, I’m almost done with the repair her head wound,” Viveca replied with a smile, “As it’s in the femur, you’ll want to be mindful as that’s one of our trickier bones to repair, but she’s in capable hands.”
~Viveca Arlander~
“How are we doing with cases?” Viveca looked up once she’d completed the repair to Lt. T’Sai’s head injury. She wanted to be careful to keep an eye on the cadets, some of them had probably not yet dealt with a trauma situation so she wanted to make sure if anyone was overwhelmed that help could be provided without impacting patient care.
