Bowman left the Main Sickbay and headed for the turbolift. “Counselor’s Office,” he said to the lift, as the doors closed; the lift began moving immediately. A moment later, the doors hissed open, and Bowman was again on the move. He had reviewed the layout of the Challenger before boarding, and had made mental notes on how to find his way to the important locations including the various places he’d have to go in order to complete his check-ins; though he still felt that he’d need to do some additional studying, as well as perhaps even some free-form exploration on foot, before he’d begin to feel comfortable navigating around the ship without the aid of the computerized maps or holocharacters as guides. Having been lost in thought, though, this was the first time Rhese had completely forgotten to count his steps! “Ugh.” he thought to himself. Usually, Rhese made it a point to determine the distance required to travel from point A to point B for routes which he felt he’d need to know, even for routes which he’d infrequently use. Surely, there would be areas of the ship that he’d never need to visit; but the Counselor’s office probably wouldn’t be one of them. Before long, he found himself facing the door; a fact confirmed by the nameplate: Counselor. Janusz Korczak. Lt. Commander. Bowman sighed; putting out of his mind, for the moment, his lack of preparation in having forgotten about measuring the route taken – and took a slow, deep breath before reaching out and touching the chime next to the door.
