OOC: Just going to pull all the loose pieces of this sim together since they are all near their ends. Well done everyone! I won’t be sticking around unfortunately, but hopefully you’ll have a new GM soon.
IC:
In the end, having been caught, their intruder proved to be Orion and have been beamed in during the last attack. They found a transponder on her that would have allowed her to signal to the Orion ship to have her recovered. Without that signal, the Orions did not return and the Challenger was able to finish repairs enough to get back underway to finish their mission. They made it to Memory Alpha and were able to deliver the artifacts intact.

Engineering was able to make sure the ship was repaired long enough to be functional, but additional repairs would be required when they returned to Earth.

Science identified the hole in the shield array, but there was no obvious answer to how the Orions knew about it. That information would need to be dealt with those higher up, likely from Starfleet Security.

The medical cadets did a great job handling their various emergencies, and their last critical patient, the lounge host Demara Aryel, not only survived her injuries but so did her baby. Soon after she was stable and they had, one night she disappeared from not only Sickbay, but the ship itself. Inquires as to her whereabouts were met by the Captain telling them that Demara was fine and to let it go. Later, all records of her on the ship were gone.

There were still unanswered questions about why the Orions wanted the artifacts in the first place, but that’s another story…
