S’tal looked at Koerner. “I fell during the second attack. I suspect I have injured more than one ligament in my right ankle. The pain is quite intense but bearable. You should treat Lieutenant Garrison first. Burns are quite unpleasant.”

Stacy snorted. “Could be a lot worse but still damn painful,” she said, trying to shift her position but gave up from the pain. “Manifold ruptured. I wasn’t right in front of it, but close enough. The power systems are such a mess right now.”

Ethan nodded checking the data from the scanner, before putting it down and picking up a dermal regenerator. Stepping over to Stacy he began to move the regenerator over the burn, while carefully moving the uniform out of the way. “Ok Lieutenant lets get you patched up. If you feel any discomfort you let me know immediately.” Ethan glanced over to S’tal. “Stay off your feet for a few minutes ok? Wouldn’t want to cause any more damage.”

As he began to treat her burns, the healing went smoothly, but she seemed to be shivering.

Ethan paused in his treatment. Setting the regenerator to one side and putting the back of his hand on the Lieutenants forehead, doing a manual temperature check. “You ok there Lieutenant? You seem to be shivering.”

Lt. Garrison gave a short of shrug. I have burns. Am I supposed to be okay?” she said.

As he touched her forehead, heat radiated through into his skin.

Bejal watched the monitors and listened carefully to Vincent’s words. He was appreciative of both Vincent’s guidance but also his trust in him. Even still while Bejal was capable for a cadet this situation was somewhat beyond his current experience. He chewed his lip nervously and he scanned through the options in his mind. “Well its not reducing which is ideally what we want but it is also not increasing which is good. Could wait and see if it begins to reduce but I am unsure on how risky that is, could try other methods of reducing it. Your recommendation Lieutenant?”

“Let’s monitor the situation closely. I prefer not to intervene unnecessarily, but prepare the surgical equipment to drain the cerebrospinal fluid if needed. Until then, I’ll check in with the other cadets. Call me immediately if there’s any change.”

Vincent stepped back, allowing Bejal to take over the patient monitoring, and walked over to Cadet Koerner. “Medrep, please, Cadet.”

Bejal nodded and prepared the instruments while diligently watching the monitor for changes. “Come on Ensign, you’ve got this.” He said softly despite being fairly certain she could not hear him.

For a few minutes, nothing changed, but then the patient’s ICP began to drop. It wasn’t a lot, but with each minute that passed, the levels dropped a tenth of a mm. At this rate, her levels would approach normal in an hour.

Ethan frowned slightly as he withdrew his hand from the Lieutenants forehead and glanced to Lieutenant Yancey. “Sir, Ensign S’tal over there fell over during the attack and seems to have damaged his ankle. Lieutenant Garrison here has burns from a ruptured manifold. I’ve started treating with a dermal regenerator, which was going smoothly, but the Lt started shivering. She seems to be running a high fever.” Ethan paused waiting for Lieutenant Yanceys response.

Ethan smiled at Lieutenant Garrison. “I’m just going to do a quick scan while i use the dermal regenerator to check everything’s running smoothly.” Ethan set the medical tricorder to scan and held it one hand, while he started running the Dermal Regenerator back over the patients burns again.

“Good work Cadetm don’t forget to log your medical treatments with the computer, don’t want anyone overdosing, fetch me if you need any assistance but you seem to have everything under control. Good job.” Vince said smiling as a call came in.
