USS Challenger
Deck 6- Main Sim
(Snip)
Sho and his partner Trig nodded. “Seems straightforward.”
Neither was sure why the lounge host was calling the shots, but at this moment it wasn’t worth arguing over the chain of command.
“When you are ready, we can go in first to the cargo bay and give you cover while you head for the cargo.”
NE Sho Salot & Trig - Security
Zachariah offered a nod towards the two nameless ensigns.
“Whenever you’re ready, lead the way” he said softly. He was going to be okay, he had faith. Demara seemed like she knew what she was doing and Zachariah put trust in her to keep him alive and not being dragged up to sickbay.

Demara nodded to the security officers and let them enter, drawing attention.
Inside the cargo bay, a figure was looming over one of the containers from the archaological dig. The lid was off and sat on the floor by their feet. At the sound of the door, they aimed a weapon and took shelter behind the stacks of containers that were their precious cargo.
Demara nodded to Conway and slipped into the cargo bay quickly, veering to the right and keeping to the perimeter. There was cargo lining the perimeter, but every stack had space to walk around. She pressed an index finger to her lips as she and Zachariah hid. Armed with the tiny phaser in her right hand, she held up her left hand to signal that they were to wait. It was entirely possible that that there was a gleam of exhilaration in her eyes. Or maybe it was just the lighting.

He just followed.
Honestly he was out of his depth, plus Demara had the phaser and unfortunately he didn’t. She also seemed like she could hold her own better than he could. He had never met her before nevermind seen her in conflict but he already had faith in her, she seemed to know what she was doing. This clearly wasn’t her first rodeo. He wasn’t hiding the fact that it was most definitely his.
Zachariah noted the look of excitement in her eyes and he began to ponder what her history was. There was clearly something about her that he didn’t know but like he’d already established, this most definitely wasn’t the time. Maybe he’d visit her lounge after everything had calmed down and ask her the question. If she’d tell him or not, he wasn’t entirely sure.
The young cadet stopped at her signal and nodded. Just to be safe, he wrapped his hand around a heavy and long yet thin box he could use as a whacking stick just in case everything went wrong.

And Sho and Trig went straight into the cargo bay, they took up a forward position behind a couple of crates with an easy view of the containers in question. Their phasers pointed over the containers, they watched as the intruder took shelter behind their stack of containers.
“Security! Put your weapon down and step out from behind the containers. We don’t want to have to shoot you!”
NE Sho Salot & Trig - Security
The intruder ducked out briefly and fired in their direction. The blast hit the side of the container the security officers were hiding behind and it was clear that whatever disruptor the person was using was not on a stun setting.
Demara gestured to Zachariah to follow her and she dashed to another set of crates and waited. She tilted her head to peek out slightly and then leaned back in to the doctor. “We’re going to try and sneak up behind and if i have to stun them, I will. They were looking for something in the crates and if they found, it, our job is to make sure they don’t get to take it with them in an escape.”

The young medical cadet had followed the Challenger’s lounge host as they had moved behind another set of crates when he’d been gestured to do so. “They’re shooting to kill”.
It came out with no filter. The security duo had made their instructions clear and precise and Zachariah had watched the intruder shoot back with the intention of ensuring that the two security officers didn’t leave the storage bay. Their intruder appeared to have no qualms with ending lives to get what they wanted, and that concerned Zachariah even more than everything else that was going on.
“You have the phaser. You lead the way” he spoke quietly to Demara, pretending his hardest to have a lot more confident than he was actually feeling.
